I laughed. I cried. I cheered. I screamed.
I laughed. I cried. I cheered. I screamed. The House that Love Built drives any person of faith to emotionally engage with the plight of the most marginalized people in American society: undocumented immigrants unscrupulously separated from their children, unimaginably imprisoned in horrible conditions — often for months and/or years. Sarah Jackson’s awe inspiring story coupled with Scott Sawyer’s beautiful story-telling illuminates the dirtiest underbelly of the American “justice” system, combatted forcefully by the unstoppable response of a home schooled, evangelically raised, white woman from one of the most conservative cities in America. Creatively financed by a massive volleyball league, Jackson and her army of volunteers come alongside these innocent immigrants instilled by hope, inspired by faith and, ultimately, ignited by love. Following the Biblical mandate to care for the foreigner, stranger, imprisoned, Jackson’s ministry personifies “. . . Christ in us. The hope of glory”. Jeffrey Meythaler, July 21, 2020

most inspiring book i've read in many years of rescuing hurting people!
after reading the last page of this book, tears streaming, you will jump into action, of WHAT CAN I NOW DO TO MAKE LIFE EASIER FOR HURTING PEOPLE? the story of this young woman reminds me of corrie ten boom's hiding the Jews; but sarah jackson does not hide them, she brings them out of darkness into LIGHT and LIFE! she should receive a Presidential award for what she has done- is doing! a modern-day joan of arc! reader will learn truth of what REALLY is happening to immigrants and how even one person can help... you won't regret the time spent reading truth and how easy it is to bring joy to a person risking his life to get to our wonderful country..land of the free....

Casa de Pas
Even though it's a true story I love how Sarah saw a need and went about figuring out to fix the problems with immigration. We don't know what others are going therefore a kind word or act can change a person's live and that's what Sarah did

Wonderful book
What a wonderful story of compassion, love and hospitality for immigrants coming to this country to escape dangers in their own countries. I learned so much about our failing immigration system. It is heartbreaking to hear the stories but also heartwarming to learn there are so many people willing to help and live out their Christian faith through acts of kindness and hospitality. A must read for church groups.

A Life Changing Journey!
Follow Sarah Jackson on her inspiring journey of how one young woman’s idea attracted the support of her Denver community and evolved into a model program for helping families tangled in a broken immigration system. This is a story of how genuine love and care can help ease the distress of those detained and support their families who so desperately need a ray of hope. Witness the dedication of hundreds of volunteers who were drawn to the cause and walk with some of them as they perform one act of kindness and love at a time. This book will have you laughing and weeping and ultimately believing that love can make all the difference. Hurray for Sarah Jackson and hurray for Casa de Paz!

Immigration stories from someone with nothing to prove
We found The House that Love Built so refreshing and real. My husband and I had just begun to volunteer with Casa de Paz a few months before covid so we had a taste of the agonizing joy of visiting immigrants in our local detention center before it had to close down for safety. We have met Sarah and loved getting to know her much better as we read the compelling story of her journey into the world of undocumented people in our land. We laughed and cried as we read this in the evenings aloud. Her courage and simple hospitality has become a strong movement in Denver and we are proud to be a small part.

Change the World-One Person at a Time!
If you want to be inspired, this is the book for you.If you want to learn how to make a difference, this book is for you.If you want to see the love of God at work, this book is for you. This is a bigger story than Casa De Paz (House of Love). It's a beautiful story about how Sarah made a dream into a reality that became an inspiration for hundreds of volunteers. It's a story about needed changes in our immigration system. It's also full of inspiration and ways we all can make a difference.

The church at its best!
This is a thought-provoking, challenging, and encouraging read. God can (and does!) use individual people whose hearts are burdened for “the least of these” to mobilize many others to love, care, provide for, befriend, and encourage them! This is the church at its best! The gospel is about redemption from sin, but it’s also about lives and systems being transformed and restored!
