Reliable- but not to be left on as it gets HOT
I bought this to be used to lock my garage door during short trips to the store. Wired to a DC adapter and to a wireless outlet, I can easily lock and unlock it after closing without going around. I’ve been using it daily and it’s proven reliable, despite me having left it retracted multiple times for hours. If you leave it in its default state, protruding/stuck out, it works good. But if when powered/retracted it will heat up quick and I’d be skeptical of its safety or at least longevity doing so. You get what you paid for but considering all it would take to be left on is forgetting or other equipment failure I would definitely approach with caution.

magnetic lock
works real nice, i used a regular door receiver to latch, perfect for my drawer lock project.you will need to make it fit to your need.

Great for our Dog Kennel Gate!
I wired this to a 12v 750ma ac adapter and plugged it into an amazon plug. Then I created a 3 line Alexa routine to turn on the plug, (open the gate), wait five seconds and turn off the plug, so power doesn't stay on to the solenoid for too long. This way we can open our dog kennel with voice command. The solenoid works great for this.

POO POO PRODUCT.
I can stop the action with just two fingers. If the door has any kind of pressure on this latch, the door will NOT open. VERY WEAK, NO PULL.

Seized up (twice)
Worked well for a little while, but then seized up where the plunger got stuck inside, rendering the latch useless. Ordered a second unit and the same thing happened.

Strong and reliable
I bought this to replace a smaller 0.4 amp latch because the smaller latch had a hard time overcoming any tension on it.I’m using the latch to hold a spring loaded lid closed. The spring causes the lid to put pressure on the latch which made it hard for the weaker latch to overcome the pressure from the lid. This new latch uses more than double the power of the previous one, so it can retract even if the lid is putting a lot of pressure on it.Though, it does take a second or two to retract when there’s force on it t but I don’t mind since it has to overcome that additional resistance. Otherwise, it snaps open instantly.
