No More Perfect Moms: Learn to Love Your Real Life

Just what I needed
No More Perfect Moms was a very freeing book for me. I was freed from the constant pressure of being perfect. It's okay if my chicken got overdone or my floors haven't been vacuumed for a month. It's helped me to change my expectations to match my reality so I'm not constantly disappointed or frustrated. I'm now leading a study of this book with other moms, and it's encouraging and challenging. It's reassuring to know that we all struggle with some of these same issues, and that I'm not the only one! I would certainly recommend this book to any mother out there. We even have a first-time expectant mother in our group, and she loves gleaning information from the rest of us as she prepares for motherhood.

No More Perfect Moms
I heard about this book on a radio talk show and decided to read it. The pastor's wife who wrote the book is very honest about her real-life experiences both as wife and mother. She feels strongly that moms should share with each other and help each other to cope with the difficult times of life. When we admit our imperfections and insecurities, we give others permission to do the same, and everyone benefits. She said that most of us judge our inside feelings by others' outside appearance, and we come up short. If all of us shared our inside feelings more honestly, we'd all know how normal we were to feel less than perfect and together. It's a good book for all moms, especially those who lead faith-based, Christian lives.

Grace in parenting, this book is a huge eye opener for me
I’m not even done the book but I am underlining so much and I already want to pass it along to every mom I know! I am a perfectionist and very critical of myself which overflows into relationships and parenting especially! This book is helping me to see the areas that my kids need me to show them grace. To stop comparing. To live life with realistic expectations that lead to happier living rather than the constant struggle of trying to meet my high expectations I set for myself. This book isn’t just about being a mom this book can pertain to any relationship we have learning to give people grace and set realistic expectations for ourselves and others. Great book so far!

Read it! Love it! Live it!
What a fantastic message of Grace for mothers and families. It took me only 2 evenings to read due to the concise and clear writing style. I highlighted, underlined, and marked each page because there were so many perfect quotes. This book will encourage you to live an authentic life of compassion, generosity, grace, and love instead of constantly feeling insecure, comparing yourself to others, being disappointed, and pretending to be perfect.

Awesome book
This is an awesome book. We are doing a book study on this in my mom's group right now and every chapter is better than the last. I have learned to grow as a mother and a wife and am only into Chapter 6. I cannot wait to see what else this book has to offer. Jill Savage is very down to earth and real in her observations and stories. It has really opened my eyes to my actions towards my family and strangers in general.

perfect book for me!
As a mom of two preschoolers with a full-time job outside the home, I am very busy. I also have considered myself a perfectionist for as long as I can remember. I've been struggling with this thought lately that "I can't do it all". That thought has been tormenting me to the point of dissatisfaction with myself. This book provided me some help where needed (not all of it applied). Where it was useful, it really hit home. There are a couple chapters that I didn't like: the final chapter because I have theological issues with minor details and the " mommy manners" section because it is WAY legalistic and out of context for the purpose of the book. In fact, there were a couple of the "manners" that really infuriated me. Then at the end of the section, it wasn't even tidied up with something like " but give grace to any mommies not following manners like these you perceive".Overall though, this was a great book to help me with my perfectionist problem. I have some great tips now and a new perspective to look at life. I recommend this book to all my mommy friends!

Every mom needs this book.
I’ve never read such a helpful book written for moms than this one. I won’t event loan mine out because I am going to reread it over again.

A must-read for all moms!
So refreshing, especially in our world of Facebook and our tendencies to compare our insides with someone else's outsides. (Not that I'm knocking FB, just that no one posts the messes!) This was such a helpful book to read!We read this as part of a MOPS Bible study / book club and it fit perfectly with that format - but it would also work well reading individually. I highly recommend this for all moms!

Anecdotal rubbish
My wife bought this as she had read good things about it. Some of its wisdom is well meant and pretty obvious while a lot of it is just the usual self-help rubbish. My wife didn't even get a third of the way through it.If you like this type of hokum then you'll love this book, but if you are more practically, solution orientated, then you won't.
