TV Ears 10321 2.3 System Wireless Headset System (Blue) (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

For most movies, it makes it easier to hear the words. Many movies have a lot of background noise, making it hard to her the words. TV Ears simply amplifies the background noise. When I find a movie that does not have a lot of background noise (music, people chattering, etc.). then I can hear the foreground sounds much better, and I am able to follow the plot.. The subtitles also definitely help.I need to amend he above. The first couple of weeks, the TV Ears worked as I described. Then later and now they are not performing as they should. Now, as I urn up the volume, I am getting a lot of static, and I am not hearing the words. So I have had to return to my hearing aids and not use the TV Ears. It appears that I paid$99 for them. I'd like a credit slip so I could purchase other items or simply a refund. Thank you. Stanley Graham.

I am enjoying watching TV so much more since I've received these TV Ears. I used to have the TV sound turned up to be able to hear what I was watching. I would also have the closed captioning on in case I couldn't make out something. But I now have the sound turned way down and closed captioning turned off. These TV Ears work wonderfully as stated by the manufacturer. The sound is clear and very audible. The only problem I have with TV Ears is the foam ear tips don't fit my ears comfortably and caused discomfort after I wore them awhile. So I ordered the Rubber Silicon Ear Tips. The Silicon Ear Tips fit my ears much better. They are very comfortable, easy to install, last mcuh longer and the sound is even better. I have no problem with the transmitter or headset receiving a signal. Connecting it to a TV is very easy and quick.

TV Ears, a good item and AMAZON, a great way to buy it.I ordered a replacement head set thru AMAZON because (believe it or not)I lost the original. I paid for only a head set, what I received was a complete new unit, headset and base. I don't know whether that was Amazon's doing, or TV Ears' doing.The headset battery lasts a lot longer than advertised, mine lasted well over two years. The only criticism I have regards the tone control. It has little to no effect on what I hear. I've been told by TV Ears that my unit is the less expensive "NEW MODEL." The "ORIGINAL MODEL" (more expensive) has better tone control.

When I saw this product I thought it was going to save a lot of headaches. It's a practical fix for the occasional problem. I found that if I have it sitting there I won't make the effort to use it. I often look at it and think if I had that cash in my pocket right now would I have bought this thing a second time, probably not. It works very well and is comfortable and all the things it says it is. The reality is when I want use it I probably should be sleeping or reading instead and the light from the TV is equally annoying to the person in the bed next to me. One problem is line of sight. It would be nice if could walk out of the room. I would like to be able to walk to the kitchen or bathroom and still hear but as soon as you get out of the beams reach the static hiss maked you turn it off.TG

I purchased this product initially from Radio Shack for my father who is very hard of hearing. He listens to the TV so loud that none of the rest of us can hear ourselves think. I went to Radio Shack in desperation to find a solution and the young guy at the store said "I have the same father and I gave him these".The TV Ears are very light weight, come with a rechargeable stand, and my father can dial the receiver within the headset higher to listen to his TV program at level 10 when at the same time the rest of us can listen at level 5. The sound goes directly into his ear so that he does not need his hearing aids and it is comfortable. My father thanked me for them and I said they actually were for the rest of us but I was pleased that he liked them.Once I knew he liked them I went online and found them on AMAZON and purchased two additional TV Ears. One more for my fathers second TV and one for myself for when I wake up in the middle on the night and do not want to disturb my husband while I watch TV.The best thing about the AMAZON connection was the product was half the price I paid at Radio Shack with no shipping and tax plus the fact that I did not have to leave home to get them and get them quickly.If you are someone that could use something like this do not hesitate to buy it you will be very happy.M. A good product that does what it says it will do. Knocked off one STAR for two reasons: it's as fragile as a hen's egg. I protect the extensions with tape for some extra support. Technology allows for decreased production costs in most offerings--not here! And the older technology is pricer than before even as the company quit marketing its product through COSTCO--limit the market and keep the price. Hostage until someone conceives a competitive offering OR my wife and family let me turn the TV up as loud as I want!

This was the third item of my order that arrived packaged properly. Had a small problem with it arriving on a Saturday afternoon. I could not get the headphones to charge much less see any lights on according to the brochure.Made a call to the service department listed in the brochure and the person said he would make a note of my call in their computer. I gave him my phone number for them to call me Tuesday because I thought I would be out of town on Monday.Turned out that I was in Monday and I called back and the service lady connected me with their technician and together we determined that the frog that breaks down the voltage was defective. After describing the item in detail to him he knew which one I had and he was placing an order for a new one to be sent to me.And, he told me if this did not work to call him back and he would send me a new complete system. The new frog solved my problem and the complete set is working fine.Great Experience Indeed!!!

These were really good and as it says on the box, they do prevent one person being deafened whilst the other person is insisting they have not got the television on really loud. But I do find it very irritating that after a couple of years when the battery needs replacing you have to buy the whole headset and they are expensive.Update. As above I got really irritated that I had to replace the battery by re-buying the headset .. and so very often. However, whilst looking to do that (again) I found a link for a different type of headset on Amazon. It is slightly more expensive but comes with two batteries and two headphone covers.. both expensive items to replace on the TV ears. We have bought it and for us it is so much better than the TV ears, if only because you can walk around the house wearing them and dont lose the dialogue/music/continuity etc.

I had an earlier set of TV Ears which worked faultlessly for MANY years. They are very comfortable to wear and even when you're listening to a loud music concert, you can still hear if someone says something to you.Alas, one day the led lights failed to illuminate. I contacted the manufacturer and was advised to purchase a new set as they had obviously come to the end of their long service life.Having received the new one,(which is the latest 2.3MHz model), I really am impressed with the crisp clarity that can be achieved with the Tone Control, which makes even a whispered statement easy to hear.Most importantly of course, I can watch TV, or listen to a concert, late into the night, without disturbing my wife sleeping beside me. They really are a wonderful product for night owls like me!The only thing is, I need another headset for the additional charging slot in the sender unit? But I don't know how to order them? Can anyone guide me how to do this?

I bought my first pair 2 years ago.they get a lot of use.I just bought another set for my husband.As usual excellent delivery time and packaging.The reason why the other set packed in is: most people would take them off as you would take a pair of glasses of ,with one hand..I recommend you consciously use both hands to take them off as taking with one hand will weaken the arm you are using to take them off.This is what happened with our first set .the wires inside the arm fractured and of course the sound became intrermittent and died.The ear pieces can feel a bit tight to start with but be gentle with them.As i said this is our second pair but we now know its weaknesses.The beauty with these my husband can adjust the sound on his TV ears to whaterver levels he wants and i can have the TV on low at the same time.That is GREAT.Just be gentle with them!

I purchased this item for an elderly neighbour (86) who has difficulty weith hearing the tv or radio on tv. She has to have the volume up so loud that the sound is distorted and painful to others. This item appears to have fully rectified the problem and now she can hear clearly and in comfort even if the sound is completely muted on the tv.Just one word of advice. The device comes fitted with a two (2) pin plug. Therefore you need to have a two pin to three pin adapter, simular to a shaver adapter ready in order to plug it in;otherwise you wont be able to charge it or use it. Apart from that very easy to install and set up. My neighbour is delighted with it.

The only TV we can get in Cyprus is on HDMI connection, whether this is the reason the TV ears don't work I don't know but all we get is "static" or "white noise". It doesn't tell you when you order them that they do not work on "digital" connections, but it tells you in the booklet that comes with it. My TV is not digital but I believe the HDMI connection has possibly made it so.I would like to return them but as it took so long to get them to Cyprus I'm not sure if I'm still able to.Linda Taylor
