Works fine...
You just have to practice with a sheet of film in daylight...then close your eyes...and try it again in daylight. Then you are for the dark...yes...complete darkness...no light!

Just cannot rely on this thing to keep my film in place. I did three different batches and maybe got on good sheet out of the three. Decided to by the SP-445 instead and am much happier with that over the MOD 54

Excellent tool.
Totally over priced but well made and works great. The cost is ridiculous, honestly. That bit aside, it’s a great tool and works well practice before you try to load it. Practice. Practice because it’s tricky.It is a very good tool and I use mine all the time now.

Works great for developing 4x5 film
It works great. Practice with the lights on with some already developed film until you get the hang of how to space the sheets so they aren't touching each other and you can do it by feel with your eyes closed. Then turn out the lights, put your undeveloped negatives in it, put it in your Paterson tank and develop as you would any other film. Need to use a 3 reel (or taller) Paterson tank.
