Steampunk Junkies FrankenCable - Reversible micro-USB and USB-C cable

It's amazing how USB connectors don't fall off due to stress of insertion and removal. If you have a device like my Kindle Fire with USB on the bottom edge you can't stand it up without the USB connector taking the weight.Right angle connectors have less leverage so are less likely to result in damage. Four quid gets you a nice well made cable that feels like quality, with not-too-dazzling blue lights on right angle connectors. It's much longer than I expected too.If you travel, it's packed in a cardboard tube that will keep it safe, it's worth gattting one to keep in your suitcase

These cables are really good. They are made extremely well and won’t wear through like normal cables tend to do at some point. The USB (large end) is different to normal ones so they can be put in either way up just like USB-C and lightning cables. Saves gaffing around checking which way you’re trying to insert it! The two appliance end USB plugs are at right angles rather than straight. This will stop them wearing but also makes the cable lie at whichever way you prefer, ie left or right. Surprisingly very handy. They also have blue led lights so you can see they are functioning. They came beautifully packaged in individual storage tubes which is a very nice touch. Highly recommended. I bought six!

A very useful device that allows me to power a Bluetooth receiver whilst charging my phone from a single USB socket within my desk. Being a 90 degree connector also helps keep the cable flush to the desk, rather than sticking out and being exposed to any knocks. The reversible plugs also work a treat into both devices.Whilst I have only had the device for a few weeks, it seems sturdy enough to last a good while.Recommended.

The FrankenCable arrived in a handy cardboard tube, which can be recycled or kept to transport it in when going away. This is a fantastic idea for a cable... the 90 degree usb is handy for all manner of spaces and the fact it is reversible (can plug in either way) is a great help. Then there’s the duel charging cables, both usb-c and micro-usb, another great idea that allows you to charge two devices at once. There is also the LED lights on the ends of both the usb-c and micro-usb connections, which is both good and bad - it’s handy for finding the connections in the dark, but the LED lights are bright enough to give a decent amount of light to a room, not particularly helpful if you’re trying to sleep. Finally, the woven cord is so much better than the standard cord, making the FrankenCable easier to store, it’s flexibility is again helpful. Over all, this is a fantastic cable in an age where technology is intergrated into our lives and multiple devices and tight corners need a useful solution. I’m glad I decided to try this product and highly recommend it to anyone.

The USB C plug works fine, but the "micro USB" plug (for older phones and tablets) does NOT work. I thought it was to be a "reversible" plug - and it does "fit" either way round - but there is no output. Pretty blue light though :-)It's very well made, and will last a long time, but not really what I thought I was buying. Oh well.

This cable is great at charging, especially when two devices with respective Micro USB and USB-C inlets. I bought it on the basis that its data connections for most devices would also include Android Auto for cars. Alas it does not work with Android Auto. If it did, this cable would be a game changer, as it's velcro strap helps to adjust the length and hide any one of the charging ports not needed. The versatility of it being adjustable to either left or right connecting also adds to its versatility. A real shame it does not work with a car connection which is available in most modern cars. Ultimately I returned mine.

The light up feature is a great idea not only does it look cool it's fictional too , I bought my set a few months back and they are brilliant

Not had it or been using it for long but it seems very well put together and therefore robust. I particularly like the 90 degree connectors which should stop or at least vastly reduce wear by bending the flex near connector.
