I have a a 500 and the 350 is my second filter by Sicce. The 500 is on an overstocked tank and it keeps my water perfect and crystal clear. It is super easy to clean too. I modified what went into the baskets putting in Matrix from Seschem so I have allot of biological media with the normal sponges. I also added in Purigen to polish the water. When I first got the 500 I let it run for 6 months before I pulled it to clean it. I was surprised, I could have gone longer before cleaning. The 350 is on a smaller tank with a smaller load and it is setup also with a ton of the SeaChem Matrix and Purigen. Both tanks are crystal clear and the water is always perfect. Added bonus is these filters have the premiere Sicce pumps in them. I highly recommend if you want a canister.

I bought this filter and it worked well once it was primed; but it was difficult to get there, it does not do that well. It subsequently worked fine with decent suction until it needed to be cleaned. After a few cleaning sessions the disconnect broke and I had to pay about $25 for a new one (manufacturer direct only, very overpriced for a piece of plastic). It ran well for a while until the seal between the canister and head failed. I was still in the warranty period and contacted Sicce for support. They told me repeatedly that the disconnect (which was recently replaced) wasn't installed correctly even after providing multiple photos of correct installation and documenting the leak from the seal. Sicce offered to "review my case" if I sent the filter back at my own expense and they "verified" that my assertions were correct. Stay away from this one; you're better off with a more reliable brand because this filter is essentially a disposable one. It'll work for a bit, but if you have any issues you're going to have to toss it and start over w/o any support from the manufacturer (although the fine print says it's under manufacturer warranty for 3 years from the purchase date). Do NOT expect that to be honored in any form or fashion.

I have had a Whale 350 running on one of my tanks for about eight months. It's virtually silent and very effective.I bought another one for my new tank. It arrived with a broken intake part that leaked around the cracked coupling. The seller was very fast in responding and contacted Sicce. Sicce was very responsive and got the replacement "self priming kit" within two business days.The defective part was a bit annoying, but the response made up for it.

Quite and effective! Personally I think it’s better then any of comparable size.

I've been running this filter for about 10 months now and have been nothing but happy. The setup was extremely easy and the ease of maintenance on this is second to none. The noise level is inaudible. And no it doesn't need to "purge air". After looking over the majority of the reviews on this product if you follow the instructions and clean your filter you are going to be a very happy customer!

Extremadamente silencioso y muy potente

After reading all these reviews and watching numerous you tube videos about this filter, and saw mostly good things. I have nothing but issues with it. it takes forever to prime and get started. doing maintenance on it is a disaster and the lid never reseals. I always end up with water on the floor. after its second maintenance on it, the top snap on pieces just broke off and the hoses won't snap back in. I've had it with this. my fluvals are so much easier and effective. i gave it a try and I'm extremely disappointed.

It's a pain in the butt to clean.. Well, let me change that. It's a pain in the but to get it going again. Mind you. I clean the tubing each week with cleaning brushes, and have been having a heck of a time getting the suction going when putting it back together. But I do love the info. I have a 55 gallon and have a HOB and this as well as 2 sponge filters.. They're water is pristine

The filter is Leaking when it fills up the water. But after I check it again, I found out that I was make a mistake on the in/out flow lock. Now, all are good, no leaking water anymore.
