Only got half my order
I ordered the Valor Fitness BD-6 from Amazon via FitnessGearUSA. When I ordered it they didn't have any in stock, but I actually received my order a week before I was estimated to. This made me incredibly happy, and I was ready to get it set up and hit the weights. After I pulled everything out of the box I noticed something was amiss. From here I went to check the invoice to make sure I received everything, but there wasn't one. I then located the Owner's Manual (which is kind of sad) and slowly went through the list of items matching each one to the single graphic provided. It was here that I noticed I'm missing about half of the parts. This did not amuse me.I did verify in my Amazon.com invoice that there was only supposed to be 1 package, which is correct (well...not correct as I'm missing half of my safety rack, but correct in the sense that someone at FedEX or my apt didn't just misplace a box).I'm currently giving this product 1 star as that is all I can give it considering I didn't receive the entire thing. I have also contacted the seller in the hopes that they can, and will, rectify this issue immediately. I will update my review as soon as I hear something from FitnessGearUSA.EDIT #1: I heard back from FitnessGearUSA bright and early this morning. There are supposed to be two boxes with this order (even though it's listed in the Amazon invoice as 1 package). They informed me that something delayed my other box, and provided a tracking number. It is due to arrive tomorrow. Currently I am very pleased with the quick responses I've gotten from the seller, and look forward to putting my rack together.EDIT #2: Got my box in the mail yesterday and fully assembled the unit. There's no step-by-step guide to set the thing up, but it's pretty easy if you've ever assembled any kind of furniture. It took me about 90 minutes to complete, but I was also talking on the phone at the same time (got distracted and used the wrong bolts a couple of times). I'll do a final update of my review after I put it to use this evening.EDIT #3: I used the heck out of this thing, and it is incredibly sturdy. My weights used to just lay on the floor and when I was going between sets I would have to slide them around, un-stack, and put them on the bar. Changing the weights was a workout in its own right, but not anymore. It was like being at the gym with the weights ready for me to use. This alone makes the BD-6 better than the BD-5 in my opinion. Once fully assembled it is a little heavy weighing in at around 140lbs, but it slides on the floor rather easily for positioning once assembled. Don't try to slide the thing once you put the four rubber shoes on the unit though as it gets significantly more difficult to move it. All-in-all I would highly recommend the BD-6 to anyone who is building a home gym.

Could not be happier with this unit
After weeks of research among brands and structure types, I settled on the BD-6 looking for a powerlifting-oriented routine centered around Squat, Bench, Military, Curls. Could not be happier with this unit. For ~$350 it is quite well built and easily able to handle all but competition level poundage. For the range of function, it occupies surprisingly little space. The adjustable safeties and bar holders are well positioned to allow both Squat and Bench with ease. The gap between uprights is generous, allowing freedom of motion. I was concerned that the heights would not accommodate bench press, but it was clearly designed with this in mind. The second bar pegs are perfect for holding and extracting the bar, and the second safety holes allow the average male to just touch a slightly arched chest without touching the safety (with my bench at least). If stuck, easing the chest back to flat allows resting the bar on the safety so you could slide out from underneath. The four plate holders eliminate the need for a plate tree, further compacting the workout space. I have this unit in a two car garage packed stuff and one large car, and still have tons of space. I am not able to move my bench far back enough to perform Military as the bench contacts the rear support bar--still trying to figure this one out. The limited ceiling height in my garage could not handle the typical 84" height of racks with a pullup bar so I settled on the BD-6. I am however to put a bar across the topmost pegs and hang from it with knees bent to perform pullups; not ideal but gets the job done.

Great rack at a great price
I read earlier reviews about it being too short for taller men. I am 6'1 and this is just perfect with the bar sitting on the top level of the rack. Any height over 6'2 probably won't enjoy this. Very sturdy and the weight plate storage is fantastic and holds my bumper plates well. This is the best squat rack, deadlift, bench unit you could ask for in this price range. The welds appear well done and absolutely no issues so far. FYI: It Comes in two separate boxes so one may arrive before the other like in my case. The other box showed up the next day.

Perfect for the home gym.
I bought the BD-6 a year ago and have been using it consistently ever since. I could not be happier with this rack. I did a lot of research on different racks and combo systems, and even ordered a different one which I ended up sending back because it took up too much space in addition to not really meeting my needs. Finally, I decided to take a gamble on this one, and it definitely paid off. It’s very solid and sturdy and provides the safety and peace of mind to lift heavy at home with no spotter around. I use it for bench, squats, setting up for overhead press, setting up for shrugs, etc. As others have mentioned, being able to store plates on the side of the rack is a huge bonus! I have a single car garage which is half converted to a finished room…so the amount of space I have to use is less than half of single car garage (with all the other stuff that’s in there) so every bit of saved space is important. The only issue I have had with it is that my bar was getting nicked up from the metal pegs – I wrapped some sports tape around the pegs and that solved that. I recently decided to try using some resistance bands to see how they work for doing rows…and the way this rack is designed I can simply put my bar at the base to brace my feet on and wrap the band around the cross support in the back, and it works perfectly…but that’s beside the point. This is a good quality rack which is plenty sturdy enough to handle a few hundred pounds for squats and bench and it’s not so big that you have to dedicate an entire room or garage to it.
