Exact replacement for the VW part number
This is the exact replacement part for what is listed on the VW site for the 2006-2010 Beetle. Unfortunately, after receiving this item in the mail, I learned that the 2010 2.5L Beetle with the single fan does not use an independent engine fan cooling switch. The item was not returned because it was not Amazon's or the seller's fault.

Not made in Germany
Description says country of origin is Germany but the box clearly says China. I purchased this specifically because I have purchased 2 other sensors made in china and one failed out of the box and the other within 30 days. Sick of these junk China parts.

Perfect fit
Difficult to install but that's just the VW way. This solved my issue and a whole year after I'm running smoothly. I would highly recommend.

Faulty DOA
Mine is faulty DOA I believe. I initially installed a new Dan and this since my old fan burned out. I did all the tests in the manual for low/high cooling fan operation and they work as advertised. Sometimes this switch will turn on the low speed around 218f which is too hot for the low speed operation. It is very intermittent at which temperature this turns my fans in. I even replaced my fan controller thinking it could be it but I’m having the same faulty operation.Fans work with AC and the switch jumped at the connector so I really believe this is the culprit. I’ll buy another of a different brand and update.
