great singing and playing guitars. the camera angle was beautiful. love the cd and dvd. buy it if you like willie and waylon. They are so good in a concert setting.

On a 2-disc CD, this collection includes 36 songs (18 each disc). Its a great overview of what appears to be all the works of the four-some singers (unfortunately, only Willie Nelson is still with us), making it a true estimate to the best of American music, from the earliest days of the Highwaymen. Amazon lists the total songs - so no need to repeat. There are some very poignant songs in the collection, including some humorous pokes at themselves and others. What is also nice about the CD is the listing of Song Writers below each song listing. One sees how much of a contribution Waylon Jennings and Johnnie Cash made to great American song writing (three on the CD written by Kristofferson, one with Willie Nelson). Quality of reproduction is great. Including those taken from Live performances. Great collection!

Old pros singing.

I used to love music. I used to have music playing in my head all the time. From age 4 on to 21. Back then music was my major. I had 16 years experience singing well in multiple Choirs. I had been a Tenor, a Baritone, and a Base. A drummer, a song writer. I considered myself an accomplished musician. I had lead my own band for five years. Then one day the professors of Chico state music department heads said I had no business being in music. This broke my heart, and the music in my head stopped. For twenty years I never listened to music again. Then I woke up to the sound of the Highwaymen live concert playing on You Tube. And the sound of that concert woke my soul to the joy of music again. I stood and sat in awe of the entire concert. And I knew I had to have this live show. So I bought it, but the order then canceled. So I bought it again, it said it was mailed and then a month later, canceled again. So then I bought this one. It never arrived, so then I issued a report it was broken, and they sent me a new one finally. After a year of trying to get a hold of this band. This is by far the greatest collection of country musicians ever assembled. But they all sound better when they sing alone. They sound terrible when they sing together. There are some great songs on this album. But many of the songs these guys do best are their greatest hits.

Waylon l'authentique, le gars du cru, Kris le beau gosse tantôt chanteur tantôt acteur mais toujours rebelle, Waylon, l'Outlaw magnifique à la voix d'or, chéri de ces dames et des fumeurs de joints puis Johnny, la légende, le précurseur, l'éternel homme en noir sans qui les trois premiers ne seraient pas là... Ces quatre là ont insufflé une bonne dose de rebellion dans la country. Toujours hors des sentiers battus, mêlant allègrement textes bibliques et tord boyaux, traçant la route pour le bon et souvent pour le pire, bien loin donc des canons du genre type garçons vachers se tapant quelques bières après le boulot et rentrant au foyer car Madame attend son homme autour d'un bon repas. Là c'est plutôt booze de toute sorte, sherifs et flics, chevaux et vieux pick-up ou encore et souvent, pourchassés et pendus... Du vrai Outlaw quoi. A l'instar de ce Desperados waiting for a train : épique, lyrique, désabusé, toujours " on the edge "... Ce double cd rassemble le meilleur des collaborations entre ces quatre artistes, qu'ils soient sous le nom des Highwaymen ou tirées d'albums solo ou duo. Highwayman, Silver stallion, The road goes on forever, Live forever, The last cowboy song, Me and bobby mcgee, Luckenbach, texas, Big river, Mammas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys... je pourrais en ajouter beaucoup d'autres mais au final je risquerai d'y inclure tout le tracklisting de ce double album ! Pour parfaire cette introduction, je ne peux que vous conseiller l'achat de The Highwaymen : Highwaymen live , monument live de ces artistes d'exception.
