BaffinMen's Soft Shell Series Snow Boot

Greenland Proven Arctic Boot
I ordered these for a trip to Northern Greenland (latitude >75ºN) in late winter/early spring. Temperatures were in the low negatives Fahrenheit (~-5ºF, -15ºC; not including wind chill), with a lot of time spent walking on glacial ice, frozen sea, and snow pack. These boots performed flawlessly - I typically wore two layers of socks (a thin wool base layer and thicker wool midlayer), and never felt the cold at all.I ordinarilly wear a US 10.5R and the 11M fit perfectly with the aforementioned two pairs of socks. When hiking I would even work up a light sweat under the socks at these temperatures, so the temperature ratings are definitely valid. I've owned many pairs of winter boots, most of which are very stiff and uncomfortable for any sort of activity, especially hiking. These are surprisingly flexible, well-built, not overly bulky, have excellent traction, and look pretty good even with jeans in a cold environment. I hiked for a solid week in them after only a couple hours of wear around the house to break them in and had no issues with chafing or rubbing. They also fit well in a pair of MSR snowshoes. I never experienced any issues with water seepage with or without gaiters, even in wet snow; though I didn't go out of my way to step in puddles to test them out.The only annoyance with regard to these boots is that they're made in China, which could explain one-off defects in workmanship that may lead to the seepage noted in other reviews. That being said, Baffin is an excellent company with tremendous heritage regarding winter boots, and these are a fantastic example of a functional, flexible, insulated boot for traversing some pretty cool parts of the globe. Highly recommended.

Great Boot!
The Good: Warm and I mean WARM. They keep your feet completely dry and are very comfortable. I was very impressed with the traction ability of these boots as well. We have a Trex deck out front so when there is freezing rain overnight, falls are likely to occur. This being said since receiving these boots I never slipped again on my way to the morning shovel routine. The Bad: A little clunky, but it's a snow boot.

Good cool weather boot
Good cool weather boot. I've been using these as a cool weather boot when I have to work outside. They are light and seem durable given the weight. I usually have a size 10 to 10.5 EEEE. I went with a size 11 and the fit fairly well. The might be a little lose in the heal if I didn't have thick socks on. These are a good alternative to clunky snow boots if you aren't going to be out all day.

I bought a half size higher (9.5 bought 10)
Fits great, toe box is a little loose but i like that as it gives me wiggle room. Walking on straight ice is a challenge still but other then that good traction. Great warmth. No issues with leaking. A little heavy but most good winter boots are. Survived one winter without getting beat up so hopefully get atleast 2 more winters out of them.

Comfortable sturdy
So far so good seem like they might last a little while waterproof

Size matters
I typically wear a size 8. I wanted to be sure of the fit while wearing thermo socks (better to be over dressed than under) and so I made a calculated guess and got a boot size 9. Wearing regular socks, there's a tiny gap..not an issue at all. Wearing thermo socks, snug as a bug! Perfect fit; not Overly tight, can wiggle toes a little bit and it's overall very nice fitting. I'm actually thoroughly impressed! So,yes, Gents,...size matters. If you are gonna wear regular socks, I'd say go UP HALF size than normal. If you're going to wear thick thermo socks, go up 1 whole size.Hope this helps someone ..especially new to wearing boots. Cheers!

Not waterproof at all
I really wanted to love this boot. Great fit and style. I work outside all day in snowy Crested Butte, CO. Unfortunately they didn’t hold up. After a few months they started to leak. I patched them up with Aqua Seal-they still leak. Super disappointed…

Polar Proven? Maybe the brand, not this product.
I bought these for work. I work in Antarctica, for several months out of the year, at McMurdo Station and the surrounding area. I got these as my day to day boot to wear, and they really did well for me. I don't spend more than 2-3 hours outside at a time and these plus some medium weight wool socks kept my feet warm in temperatures down to -30C. They worked really well for a few months. Then they started coming apart at the seams. Both boots are doing their best to separate from the soles and that has ended up letting moisture in, which is a HORRIBLE thing at the low temps I work in. I'm utterly shocked that a company as reputable as Baffin would have such a shoddy product. People trust their lives to these boots, and I'm not exaggerating here. If your boots fail in the field you could die. They make some great boots, these boots are not that. They are a disgrace to the company. These get 2 stars. Only because before they started falling apart they worked well, really well. If they hadn't started falling apart they would have been a solid 5 star product... I'm pretty disappointed.

Perfect fit and are great boots
After my first walk I think these boots have been the best I ever bought received on time in a snow storm and I listen to of reviews about fitting a little small so I did go one size bigger and I’m glad I listen as it’s a perfect fit for my feet. Hopefully they last a couple years but will buy again

Best boots ever
I have a pair and this is my son’s 2nd pair (he outgrew the last pair). This is my 3rd year in Canada with them, they simply encompass your feet like a glove, so warm and the grips are amazing for any terrain, even glare ice. Just bit the bullet and buy them. You will not be disappointed.

Excelentes botas.
Excelente producto precio/calidad. Llegaron en tiempo y forma. Bastante altas, cubren muy bien los tobillos, la suela y materiales se ven resistentes.
