It works, but you have to be patient and stay on them.
July 31- Asurion received my productAug 2 - I'm told I will be receiving a reimbursement check in the mail within ten business days. They could not fix computer. That was fine.Aug 13 - I'm told my claim is resolved. I have yet to receive a check. They ask me to review on Amazon. I did not. This is my first contact with Asurion directly.Aug 28 - Still no check. I get back on the chat with them. They say they need a proof of purchase. First I've heard of it. I send it immediately to email they asked for and reference number I was given.Sept 8 - I'm asked for my proof of purchase. They give me a different reference number. I forward the email I sent along with a second copy of proof of purchase. This is my third time talking with their chat.Sept 12th - I get an email saying my reimbursement will arrive soon.Sept 18th - I get a second email saying my reimbursement will arrive soon. At this point, the reimbursement does arrive.Now, Sept 27th, the check has cleared the bank and everything appears good. Despite a lot of runaround, the company did exactly what they said they would do. I would and have used them again on a replacement laptop. But I will also keep documented notes when I do. I can't give them a perfect score, because this was a lot of headache and a lot of worry because, frankly, it was a lot of money. But in the end, they did right by me.

Asurion has your back
My very expensive Alienware R17 X2 laptop burned up (got to hot even for minor graphics). I also bought Asurion insurance on it when I purchased it, something I'll always do when I purchase anything of high value. Asurion said "send it to us (they even paid for shipping) & we'll help you out". After two days after they received it, they stated it was toast and no fault of mine. They then refunded me the full purchase price including tax! Who does that? They do! We will always purchase Asurion protection on anything of high value. I'll always appreciate what they have done for us.

Fantastic product
I bought the Asurion warranty for my last laptop. Three years in, the screen went bad. I sent it to Asurion to be repaired, and that was handled very quickly. Unfortunately, when I got it back, there was several other issues: fans started getting stuck, the RAID controller kept dropping drives out of the array, and other video issues started cropping up. So I sent it in again.When they determined that it couldn't be repaired, the problems seemed to be the motherboard going bad and that was no longer available, they refunded my full purchase price. Not prorated for the 3 years I'd already been using it, the full $4k. Essentially I paid $400 to use a laptop for 3 years.I bought another laptop with the refund and got the warranty again. Wound up with a vastly better laptop, for less than I paid for the first one. The amount I saved paid for the new warranty.

The tech support is the worst I’ve ever experienced.
I filed a claim on the 26th of September and informed asurion that my address was no longer the same as the one on file because I had moved. Regardless, shipping materials were sent to the wrong address. It was a nightmare trying to get them sent to the correct address. What should of been a straightforward process ended up taking weeks and resulted in multiple shipments of packing materials being sent to the incorrect address. I had tried just asking if they could send me the shipping label so I could just package it up myself and send it in but they gave me issues about it and wouldn’t have it, so I ended up waiting weeks for them. After I finally got through the lengthy process of trying to get the shipping materials sent to the correct address, I sent it in so that it could be repaired. After about a week I received it back and when I tried turning it on, every time I tried logging in to my laptop it would immediately shut down. When I informed asurion that it still wasn’t fixed, I was told by the tech support to take it in for repair at a local repair shop and they would reimburse me for the cost of repair. I did exactly that and got it repaired, which cost me $1600 out of pocket. I kept a copy of the receipt, just like they told me to, and I sent it in to them so that I could get reimbursed. I was emailed back and told that they had sent me a check in the mail and that I only needed to wait 7-10 business days for it. I waited longer than that and never received it. I emailed them back asking for tracking information and was ignored. I ended up calling them to notify them that I had not received the reimbursement check and was told that they would immediately resend me the check, and that it would take another 7-10 business days. Again, I waited longer than that amount of time and still hadn’t received anything. I called back and it turns out it was never even sent, so I’ve been waiting around for nothing. I was told to wait until the 5th and call back for then to resend it to me. So far, they’ve been completely unwilling to reimburse me in any form other than a check in the mail. I have no idea as to why I’m waiting weeks for a reimbursement check in the mail when it could be done wirelessly in seconds. Now I’m stuck waiting around yet again to see if they actually send it this time. If I actually recieve it this time, which is a big IF, it would of been a month and a half that I’ve been waiting around for reimbursement, all while being short $1,600 that I payed out of my own pocket, and that’s on top of the few weeks that it took to actually recieve the shipping materials in the mail. This whole process has been a nightmare.

You have to work with them, but they will resolve it
Did my first claim with them for a broken laptop. It took many weeks and I appreciate the help of everyone on the phone I spoke with. Eventually they refunded me the full amount. Just a few things for the company to understand why its not 5 stars.1. Some of the internal processes are broken, sending me an email with instructions with broken links is not helpful. Please verify your links are correct when asking for documents.2. Please follow up with your customers. We are spending quite a bit of money for these warranties. Please understand we just want resolution to our issues. Sometimes communication is not fluent, I had no idea you were missing one document for weeks when I was waiting for my check.For those who do purchase these plans, you need to take the time to follow up with them consistently if you have a claim. Do not assume anything. I understand its a business, but please understand that many of these companies are layered with bureaucratic rules and policies that make tie down the employees hands to get your issues resolved.
