Good - but badly edited.
I agree with previous comments. A very informative read, full of facts that were new to me..and I thought I knew a lot about the pirate stations. But the editing and proof-reading do leave much to be desired. Perhaps a next edition will improve things ? Would have been five stars otherwise, and still recommended.

If you are a Radio Caroline fan like me. This is the book for you.
To me it is a book that is so good, you do not want to put it down until it has all been read.

Lots of typo's!
Good full history of the station, but quite a lot of self indulgent author mentions. Most annoying was the amount of typos of varying types. Was the book proof read, Mr. Rusling? Altogether a bit disappointing, especially bearing in mind the price. I expected a lot better!!

A good read, but...
My Sister-in-Law bought me this book for Christmas and I'm just getting to the end of it now. It's full of good anecdotes and many things I'd not heard before, but I'm afraid the book is rather spoiled by the number of typo's right from the outset. We are also given the same information several times on the same page, sometimes in the same paragraph! The book would have been so much better if the proof-readers had been more diligent. Oh, almost forgot - several of the photos have not reproduced correctly either. Still, despite these shortcomings the book is quite an intriguing insight into the world of Radio Caroline.

COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN
I received the book at 1.00pm and finished it at 4.00pm Never got bored, some of the technical stuff is not interesting to me but otherwise what a good story (TRUE) I am proud that myself and Chris Cary supported The Caroline Era which will never be forgotten, especially to books like this one. I am 71 now and this bought me back to when I was a vivacious fun loving 24 year old !

The ultimate Radio Caroline Book
Let's start with the cons: The proof reading is dire and sometimes facts are repeated a few paragraphs later. The pros rate this as 5 star. From start to finish there are facts that I have never seen before. A lengthy read at 500 pages just shows how much info there is in the book. It starts from the beginning of Radio Atlanta in 1960 and Ronans involvement through to today. Is it worth the money? Most definitely YES. Should it be on your bookcase? If you are a radio fan then YES

The ultimate Radio Caroline book
I have been following the history of offshore radio intensively for decades, and my book collection on the subject is impressive and almost complete. Especially on Radio Caroline there are numerous publications, but most of them focus on the sixties. Again and again the seventies and eighties are only cursorily treated. That has now changed: Paul Rusling has published the "Caroline Bible", a mammoth work that not only meticulously depicts the history of the legendary radio station. It contains all known and less familiar details about the radio ships, the transmitters, the hundreds of deejays and helpers in the background with countless anecdotes and a mountain of in-depth knowledge. For the interested radio listener an indispensable reference book has been created, the reading of which will not let the reader go. Rusling has consulted countless sources, conducted many interviews and compiled hundreds of photos, many of which were previously unknown.Without any doubt a must-have for anyone interested in radio history and the watery wireless!Dr. Martin van der Ven (The Offshore Radio Guide)
