Purchased for an elderly family member, who has a dog that kept going into their regular trash can. The step to open the lid is sturdy, which prompted the purchase initially. Once received, really liked the slow closure of lid, so there isn't any noise when it's trying to close. Sleek and clean design, much better than a regular waste can. Purchased a set of trash bags to go with it, thick and sturdy but can also use regular store bought bags. Overall a great purchase for the price.

I purchased another simple human slim trash can to replace the one I purchased previously, when the lid popped off and the mechanism was so complex I couldn't figure out how to get it back on again. This one seems to be the same model and it arrived without the lid attached, so I was a bit concerned. But this model has a very simple mechanism. While it's much more expensive than I'm accustomed to spending on a trash can, it's totally worth it.

Arrived clean and intact. Easy to put together. It's matte finish gives it a clean appearance. Great value and does everything I need it to do.

This is simply one of the best trash cans we have ever had. It looks great, works great, and it is easy to put trash bags into the trash can without forcing it on. Now to the problem, it is made of plastic and it is super light, so it moved around each time the pedal was pressed to open the lid. We added rubber feet to try to keep it from dancing around our kitchen, but this lifted it about 0.5 inches form the floor so it started tilting when you pressed the pedal and pivoting on the pedal. So we got a 10 lbs sand bag and put it inside the trash can to weigh it down... exhausting. Such a nice design otherwise.... maybe version 2.0 will include a weighted bottom to avoid this issue.

The best thing about this is that the bag stays put! I also love the slim design, which fits right next to the counter without taking up much room. It is sturdy, and the lid closes slowly and completely. It seemed expensive, but it will last for years and is worth every penny!

I didn’t expect that I could fall in love with a trash can. Lol, The slim design is absolutely perfect for my place. Not a scratch or blemish on it. The rim lifts up easily and locks for bag changes very simply. hides and holds the bag when closed. Lid Seals tight holding in odors. I honestly couldn’t be happier with it.

I have had another, larger simplehuman bin for nearly 3 years and always been pleased with its easy use, quality and looks. I intended to get a cheaper slim bin in the range but there were none available at the time, and this version was ridiculously costly, though a glam treat and superb quality. Read instructions! There is a lot on Amazon about the difficulty fitting the lid. The first time it didn't work and I was going to send it back. The helpful advice from Amazon users was to use a rubber hammer. With trepidation, I used an ordinary hammer on a folded face cloth to avoid damaging the lid and fixed it correctly in place. I tapped once but firmly on each side of the top at the back. The lid was fixed. It would be very helpful if there were an idiots' guide video on this model, showing how the lid fits because I had to work this all out first, and it took me ages. Use: I use a recommended (supplied) bag but always put clean, completely dried recycling in, including tins, so use the bag over and over (4 months, one bag, honest) and just hold it high when putting recycling in the green bin so nothing contaminates it. I don't overfill, so it can't split. I would suggest in busy families that only responsible people empty it. It looks very smart and weirdly I get pleasure each time when using it. Recommended.

Very satisfied with this bin. Elegant and nicely designed. Thanks to its narrow shape, I can easily fit it in my narrow laundry room and it holds quite a lot of trash. I recommend this item.

Like that it hides the garbage bag (I just buy regular bags that fit, you don’t need to get specific simplehuman bags). Hate that things are being made so cheaply these days, this is my 3rd bin in 2 years (different brands). This one, for a plastic bin seems to be the winner. The design is sleek for small apartments but has good depth, and it’s unassumingly sturdy. Husband wishes it had some more weight to it.
