BTSHOW Soldering Mat Silicone Heat Resistant Mat 530℃ Repair Mat Electronics Mat 33x21CM (Gray)

I was sick and tired of getting out a sheet of newspaper or something similar to protect surfaces when I just had a quick bit of soldering to do, that is why I bought this. It is so much more than a soldering mat though, the size of it means that there is plenty of space on the map and the recessed areas on it mean that if I put small things down, they don't roll off and get lost when I need them. The 'more' bit though is how it can be used to put hot pots and pans or even hair curlers and straighteners.You can see how flexible this is in my video but what that means also is that it stays where it is put, you can also see in the video how I put the end of the soldering iron onto the mat and it has no effect whatsoever. Comes in a re-sealable bag but because of the silicone material this can just as easily be rolled up and thrown in a drawer or tool box.This is going to save me so much trouble and because of ease of use and the price, this is getting a 10/10 from me and a definite recommendation

This was purchased to go with a new soldering iron station the idea being that I could keep an area just for 'go to' soldering and using a mat would help me keep the area free from the usual mess that has to be cleared to get to a bit of desk space. The mat is a good size with lots of sunken areas to put small items so they don't get lost when disassembly is being undertaken prior to working on an item. The mat is quite heavy and should not move easily. It comes in a strong resealable plastic bag which you can use if you want to store the mat. A product that seems to do what it says on the tin, so it's 5 stars.

Perfect for me at least, just the right size, shape and thickness.The BTShow Mat fits the workspace I have on my desk just right, it’s not too thick but thick enough making it very flexible to roll up or fold for storage when not in use.There’s a nice sized flat work area with a number of different shaped and sized raised area’s around the edge of the mat which are perfect for storing screws and parts when disassembly something and great for components when soldering anything.The surface is nice and soft meaning I don’t need to put anything down to avoid scratching anything I’m taking apart.So far it hasn’t been affected by any solder drops or soldering anything directly on the surface.Really happy with the mat, a good purchase, wish I bought it earlier then I wouldn’t have a couple of burn marks on my desk

Silicone soldering mat.This is a really good buy. If your always tinkering with electronics it’s always good practice to work over a mat, then any small part that you might drop is soon spotted on the mat. Completely impervious to my soldering iron, easy to keep clean, with anti static properties.If your into electronics you need a silicone mat. After all just think it might save your dining room table from being scratched and is really smooth and won’t harm any glass dials or plastic faces or such that you might be working on.

Great mat, I have been looking for something like this for ages! the fibreglass mats are ok but this is mutch better!only one thing I'd recommend if you're buying this. Don't get a black one! all the screws in electronics seem to be black! get a blue one or something like that!

I mean, i like this mat and it doesn't take much room at allIts soft and very useful for my soldering ironOn saying this i was expecting a much bigger mat, this feels a little bit too restrictive for meWould have also like a sort of hole at the edge so I can hang this away for storage when not in useApart from the issue of sizing, I do find this mat much okay and usefulWould post some pics with its actual usage, i hope it can withstand a hot kit

This was slightly smaller than I imagined but nonetheless still very effective. I used it whilst making a repair to an electrical item which needed to be soldered. Good way of protecting the table and I like the little areas for putting small screws to stop them rolling away. It has a good storage bag for safe keeping and protection - I have to keep mine in the shed on orders of my wife!

Not as thick as my last mat but half of the price. It is only just big enough to do the job. I will store it flat because it looks like it might be a little fragile. I gave it five stars because it is silicone and the description on the item page is accurate.
