DO NOT Purchase!
Please do not buy this product. I’m not only disappointed, but sad that I couldn’t use it to make a keepsake ornament of my baby’s handprint. This is the first Amazon review I have left giving an item only one star. I purchased 4 of these baby print keepsakes 5 months ago so I could send one to all of my daughters grandparents. I wanted to have in time to make for the holidays and wanted to wait until she was a bit older.Today, I excitedly sat down and opened 2 of the 4 packages to begin making the handprint ornaments. The packages have never been opened up until today. My husband we’re going to tag team. My daughter is 9 months old and loves helping with crafts. As I opened the box I compared the impression material and saw that the impression material was exactly the same: hard, rubbery and had a strong odor.On a positive note: packaging was cute, all materials easy to identify with simple to follow directions. The “impression material” was sealed in a package along with a plastic small rolling pin, plastic hole puncher, 3 ribbons and a circular mold. The negative: the “ impression material “ is a rubber like material that is 100% impossible to knead and get to the consistency of taking an impression (hand or foot). I followed all directions. I couldn’t even knead the product. My husband, who is incredibly strong also laughed Snd said it was like trying to knead a rubber ball. It was impossible to knead to the consistency the directions called for. It’s as if the product went “bad,” however, it was like that for multiple packages. The material will not take an impression, period. It does not do what the description states it will.Sadly, I can’t return all 4 products since I’m past 30 days. This product is not what I expected. The material is impossible to use. It is NOT a molding type material. It is rubber and hard. Please save your money and purchase another product. What a waste.

Changed the formulation, no longer a good product
I bought this product from this listing a couple of years ago when I had my son and it was great and easy to use. I recently had another baby and decided to order another kit so I could have matching prints. This time, the clay was totally dry and wouldn't take an impression. I thought it was a fluke and ordered another, and it also wouldn't work. They have definitely changed the formulation and it's way worse. Would not recommend.

No problems with material consistency!!
I am not sure if they have changed the material since some of the negative reviews I read, but we had no problems working with the material and making a beautiful final product! Our parents loved receiving the ornaments as a gift for Christmas. We did use an actual rolling pin instead of the small plastic rolling pin included in the kit which made it much easier. We ordered the two pack and were actually able to make three ornaments with the extra material. You could probably do the same depending on how thick you make the first two ornaments, except you obviously would need to add your own ribbon to the third. Making three definitely made this worth the money! If you found this review to be helpful, I would appreciate a helpful vote so I know to review more products like this in the future!

Garbage!
This is an absolute joke. I appreciate the concept, but it absolutely does not work. First of all, the "rolling pin" they include is a small 1" plastic tube. There's nothing on either end of the tube to grasp, so it's nearly impossible to roll the material out flat and evenly. Second, the consistency of the material is like chewing gum. It's extremely sticky and very firm (even after kneading). It literally picked up every single piece of lint and looked terrible. Here's the biggest problem: the material is so firm that you have to PUSH your child's hand or foot into it to make an indent. My 12 month old baby was not happy about having her hand pressed down. Aside from that, it doesn't even take a proper imprint! It was like a basic outline of her hand. This went straight into the trash.

Like rubber, not clay
This product was very easy to use, but that is the only good thing. I couldn't seem to find the old brand of impression clay with keepsake tin that I used back when my kids were babies, so I tried this one. This product is NOT clay that hardens! It's a rubbery material that dries into a more rubbery material. To make matters worse it smells REALLY BAD. Like an awful chemical. I probably will not keep the impression I made. I am going to find something else that resembles the classic salt-dough/clay impression kit that I thought this was.

Loved this! Perfect for our tree and grand parents too!
Product was relatively easy to use. Obviously the difficult part is to get your child to cooperate with you depending on their age. What I did like about this product is that I was able to use it about 15 times since my baby wasn’t cooperating at nine weeks old. As you can see I was still able to get four good handprints over the course of 2 1/2 hours.... and these are all from one kit. So I was actually able to get four ornaments from one kit. The material is very lightweight and has a slight smell to it but it’s not a bad smell. My husnand said “vanilla”. These aren’t actually ceramic but more like a foam so they won’t break with a fall or something. I decided to use my own ribbon which I also found on amazon. You can visit my profile and other reviews to find it!If this review was helpful please mark helpful at the bottom left! 😀

2 kits- 2 successes. Will only buy this one.
This is the second time I've bought this exact baby hand/foot print kit. I bought another brand off Amazon due to it was slightly cheaper and would have arrived on time for when I needed it.... Yeeaaahhh big mistake. I ended up throwing the other one away and buying this one anyway. It doesn't leave residue on my tots hands. It is lightweight like a marshmallow and won't break if it's dropped (or in our case thrown by a 2 year old who doesn't quite understand how to use the force yet 🙄) he used the excess from the kit as "playdough" for a good while and it never even got in my carpet or anything. We just kept wetting it when it dried out and worked it in until it was soft again. I'll be buying this one from now on. I'll not be experimenting with any others.

Mess free but dries very soft that could loose imprint
Bought a few of these to make gifts for my family after the birth of a first grandchild.Pros*Easy to use*No mess*Kit Provides all items required including ribbon to make ornament.*Able to remould and redo if mistakes made.*Very light material so would not pull at tree.Cons*Drys very soft which I feel could become squished and loose imprint when stored.Personally would prefer an old style plaster of Paris for this use.

Yoy get what you pay for
Made two of this out of the provided "clay" - one considerably better than the other. The one is to go in a frame and the other makes it clear the material used isn't so great (still soft despite being set), but honestly one gets what one pays for.My main issue is that the "clay" left a chalky smell on my hands which isn't ideal when one is pressing baby hands and feet into it. Ensure the hands and feet get wiped afterwards as directed!

Not impressed.
Given it cost me £7 I was expecting enough clay for more than one hand print. All you get is a cookie cutter type circle, a little bit of red ribbon and two small tubes. Not worth the money. The clay it's self wasn't great. Although it is non toxic, it shrinks quite a bit when drying.Such a shame.

Not great
You have to push the baby’s hand/foot really hard for a good imprint. I wasn’t willing to make my baby cry over this so we got a really rubbish result 👎. Also the cutter is so big the imprint would have been lost so we used our own.

I bought this even after I had read the bad reviews. Thought I’d give it a go
I bought this even after I had read the bad reviews. Thought I’d give it a go. It is very disappointing. It was easy enough to do but the result was rubbish. The print looked fine when it was done but as it dried, it looked really poor (and I did a good deep imprint). Ended up having to throw it away so was a complete waste of money.
