LyxPro Quad Series 10 ft XLR 4-Conductor Star Quad Balanced Microphone Cable for High End Quality and Sound Clarity, Extreme Low Noise, Black

I ordered two of these 15-foot cables for my church, where I take care of keeping all the A/V stuff running. I'm also an electronics engineer with quite a lot of analog and RF design and production experience. This review is first impressions; I'll try to add another after we've had some time using the cables. We have some other LyxPro Quads on order, of various lengths, so we should have some solid experience in a few months. (These cables are replacing cables all of one different brand that have failed...several with shorts BETWEEN the wires in the middle of the cable run! No more of THOSE, please!) I've tested the two LyxPro cables we now have with three different mics (two phantom-powered electrets and a dynamic). Some serious flexing of the cable near the connectors yielded a very modest amount of noise, when flexed near the mic, and none audible at the mixer input end. I unscrewed the back off one connector, and could see the 4-wire + braid shield construction, a solid cable grip collet, and good assembly. The connectors have gold-plated pins, and look well-made. They look pretty similar to Deltron, which are my personal faves even above Neutrik. We'll see how they hold up. -- For those who may not understand the advantages of 4-wire construction, one of the key ones is that (properly made, and used in a balanced system) it rejects outside fields quite a bit better than 2-wire. There are two minor things I'd change if it were up to me. I'd add a short tapered flexible strain relief where the cable exits the plug/jack, so it's not so easy to put a sharp bend in the cable right there. It's good to avoid stress near where the wires terminate in the connector. That might also reduce the little bit of noise I noted when the cable was flexed very near the mic. And I'd add the ability to put a couple color-coding rings on the connectors like I can do with the Deltron ones.

This is the second of these cables that I have purchased. It's a little shorter, which I wanted for a smaller stage. I've never had interference with them! Sometimes they are hard to take out of the jack but this usually resolve in time. Great xlr cables.

excellent built quality and serve the connection purpose. honest and very useful interconnect. save your $ to buy this instead of those expensive aftermarket cables that did nothing better (other than as a placebo)

From a standpoint of signal quality and interference immunity this cable is equivalent to the much more expensive Mogami cable Studio Gold series. The LyxPro connectors supplied are high quality and fully compatible with standard XLR connections and certainly on par with those from Neutrik. The cable is well constructed with good soldering apparent on pin 1. While the solder joints on the signal pins (2 & 3) are covered with shrink wrap, none of the insulation looking overheated from soldering and wiring is overall very neat. My guess is that these are machine assembled and if so are likely to be of very consistent quality. In net, the cable is overall very robust and should be very durable. All things considered, they function as well as Mogami Studio Gold cables and are much less expensive. I doubt you can obtain significantly better XLR cable functionality for any price. I ordered two more.

It got here quickly which is a plus. I actually modified it for my own use, as I needed to run 2 DC power lines plus the mike cable pair for a small remote speaker. The reason I got this is because nobody makes a good, flexible 4 conductor cable that doesn't cost an arm and a leg in a 25' put up. And when I got this, I measured it and it was actually 26' long. For my purposes this worked well for me

I’ve been buying these for a few years replacing my mogami cables. These have super low noise and I haven’t had issues with interference. I use these for both studio and location audio for film. Whenever I need a professional cable I look for these. Great price for what you get.

I got a new Audio interface, and matched with some of my regular cables, when touch those, interference pops up and can't even touch the condenser microphone, read the reviews to try this cable, I was amazed about quality!, as soon it arrived I used with my interface and condenser mic, what a change!, nothing about noise or interference, I can even hold the microphone in my hand to test and move it and nothing, it fits secure and no electricity pops because a bad connection, this cable is awesome can cost so much less than the most named brand so you will not get wrong, Buy it, do not think twice. This is a decent quality shielded XLR cable. The 10 ft cable measures 10 ft (don't laugh, some of these cheaper cables on Amazon do not). The only thing that I don't like is that the ends are slightly too large to click into a microphone and require more force than neutrik jacks. Other than that, they work very well and reject interference from power supplies / power bars / etc.

Well constructed XLR cable. End connectors are solid. I took the connectors apart and the solder connections to the cable are neat and professionally done. Cables were priced very well and delivered very fast.

Satisfies my needs perfectly! Not noticing any interference compared to my previous cable. The cable is pretty thick and seems to be quite well made. My only complaint is that the female XLR connector is a bit hard to insert into my microphone.
