Fantastic for Gaming While Married
My wife and I spend our evenings sitting basically right beside each other, me in my office just on the other side of a doorjamb and her in a recliner on the other side, watching TV. I have a nice sound system and a hifi set up in the office and like to listen to music while I game. But then she can't hear the TV, and that is no bueno when you're a good house mate.So I started looking into open backed headphones, because I'd heard they give you great sound quality and you can still hear the world around you. The only time I wear headphones while gaming is when I am in voice chat with friends, and I already have a set up for that. So, digging around, I found the Bose SoundWear, balked at the price, and started looking at other implementations of the same concept. These are the set I settled on based on a few metrics. 1) These were the only set on Amazon that any reviewers had written positive comments regarding the quality of the audio, especially the bass tones. 2) The shape and overall flexibility-without-being-flimsy were appealing. 3) The thinness of the neck band.I am not disappointed in the quality of the audio. Part of the trick with bass is that those low frequencies need a relatively low amount of air to move through at personal audio distances. Ear buds do this by creating a seal in your ear, thus only needing to vibrate the tiny amount of air between the bud's diaphragms and your ear drum. Over the ear phones do the same with larger cones and vibrating all of the air trapped around your ear. These produce bass at higher volumes in an interesting way: they vibrate against your collar bone. So you get a low-wave bass tone traveling through your sternum and the top of your lungs. It's actually a very neat trick and gives the audio body without being boomy and sounding like crap. The sphere of audio created by these are something like a space helmet. You can shift them forwards and backwards on your shoulders, or use a scarf or your hoodie to position them so that they are pointed in a way that sounds best to you. At low volumes it's an almost eerie effect of ambient background music, like you might hear in a department store. At higher volumes, it's a stereo cranked up in the room. It's not going to shatter windows, but it definitely produces a large volume of sound that can be heard from across the room clearly. The overall shape and build quality is top class. There's a very mild rubber smell when first unwrapped, and I'm very sensitive about rubber like materials and their chemical off-gassing. That smell dissipated quickly and a quick wipe down knocked it out entirely. The build is essentially two fairly dense bluetooth speakers that ride comfortably between your shoulders and your collar bone, one for each stereo channel. The band that travels across the back of your neck that houses the interlinking cabling and other components is sturdy and made of very dense silicon, with a possible hard plastic core. The color choice is limited, but my wife went with the black-on-black and I went with the blue on red. The look is quite striking without being overly edgy. The buttons are tactile and well laid out, and the controls are well made so that most devices I've used it with have responded on first press.I'm a bigger guy and my neck is thick enough that these manage to land exactly in line with my ears. On a smaller person, they hang down more on the chest. I've found that the best part of the bubble of audio that this produces is directly above the speakers in a fairly tight cone. So, having a narrow neckband is great when you need the speakers to sit a bit further forward than on a slimmer person. These are built like an enormous shirt collar. Their density, ergonomics, and gravity's effects hold them very comfortably in place without being too weighty. As I said above, if you need them to sit further back, you can use a scarf or a hoodie to get them in a perfect audio position. As a final note, the battery on these is quite good. I've charged them mostly out of habit three times in the last month, and I use them most evenings for a couple of hours. I've yet to have them run out of power on me. This past weekend my son wore them for most of the day and they were still above 50% when he handed them back to me. I have to assume that part of the density of the audio "pods" is battery, and I really appreciate that the designers were competent enough to give these things a big reserve. As with all bluetooth devices, there's a small delay in the time of the audio leaving your device and it arriving at your ear. If you play twitch video games, you may want something hard wired. These aren't the best for competitive shooters where audio feedback is important to your awareness. But for playing most games, the delay is mostly imperceptible.

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?....😜
I bought this for different reasons than most. My husband is 70 years old and hard of hearing in 1 ear and in our RV there is a very loud A/C unit on the ceiling between him and the TV. He always has the TV volume maxed out and it's killing me! He absolutely hates anything in his ears. Well I have a surprise for him when he gets home tonight! I hope he loves them as much as I do! I charged and paired to the TV.even my husband too if he would try to learn something new. But all he cares about is pushing power and like magic it works..Of course I had to test them out and they are amazing. They are so soft and flexible and IV been wearing it almost all day and I really think this could possibly be the smartest thing I'V done for our entire marriage! I wish I had found them 12 years ago. They are so simple to operate even he could do it (If he would try)😂😂without always calling me to fix the TV or WiFi as usual. They can even recieve phone calls. I tried that out too and it was so clear it felt like I was sitting beside the other person. To me it sounded even more clear than my phone. When I first tried to pair them but wasn't aware that I had already paired and I was sitting there in deep thought while reading the paperwork I guess I forgot about them still being around my neck. Then out of the blue I heard a man's voice speaking so loud and clear it had to be compared to what God would probably sound like if he had spoken !_..lol! No guys..I do not hear God's voice through these speakers. But it sounded awesome! Then I turned it up pretty high and went to another part of the room and turned on his TV and it was great because..Before I tried to get him to wear regular headphones and really nagged at him complaining about the TV volume. He tried them finally I think just to shut me up but we both hated every second of it. He hated anything in his ears and said they were not loud enough. I hated it immediately too because it felt like I was in the room completely alone and it was dead silent...too silent! Totally ridiculous! I'm hoping this is the perfect solution for a person who is hard of hearing. He travels for his job almost all the time. He has a room mate and I'm sure he too will love love love this solution as much as I do. I want him to try them at the casino because he can never hear his phone over the noise. That is a big deal because when I'm looking for him and cant reach him I will end up searching and searching for him in a huge casino and it can really ruin my mood. Maybe just for a moment when he hears my voice in his ear when I call him he will be overcome with emotion just from being able to hear me so clearly( and maybe think it's the voice of an angel (yeah right)🙃 I could have bought the 25$ unit but it would never have sounded this great or been so comfortable that you forget your even wearing them. I have been looking at the ones from Bose but I can't afford those. I Instead saved enough money that maybe I can order me a pair too because I gotta tell you I'm going to have a very hard time handing these bad boys over to him..lol! Oh yeah I almost forgot to say so far the battery is still fully charged after using them for hours. The delivery was amazing and on my steps the next day after ordering them. Also I believe it comes with a 18 month limited warranty. That is a pretty a long warranty but the extended warranty is offered also so cheap that I would be stupid not to buy it( like under 6$ I believe.) Also they seem so durable. I wouldn't even worry if my 2 year old grandson had them on. If they were dropped it wouldn't hurt them and I am impressed that they are waterproof..sweat proof and weather proof too! Also they paired easily to at least 2 different devices. Thanks guys if you stuck with me until the end of the longest review in history. I really appreciate it🙃😉Stay Well and at least 6 feet apart!!!😘That's all folks!!!😘
