Useless
If you teach AP Lang, you know that the test has changed. This book barely addresses the changes and does not have practice tests that reflect the new test format. There are no revising questions on practice test 1 and only 4 questions on practice test 2. That doesn't help anyone. The FRQs are useless and one even repeats a prompt put out by College Board in 2018. They have different sources but it's the same topic. If you are looking for a study guide that helps you prepare for the new AP Lang test, go elsewhere.

Opening Multiple Choice Test Riddled with Errors
This was very discouraging for my son to use in prep for his AP English exam. The first diagnostic test is clearly full of errors. The questions look like they have been rearranged because some of the answers are nonsensical. For someone who is serious about studying for the test, this book is discouraging and a time-waster. We hope that the inside chapters will prove to be a bit helpful, but we have not reviewed them yet. Before this is re-published for next year, it will need a complete overhaul.

Not worth it
I’ve looked at 3 of the new AP test study guides, and this was my least favorite. It has very little that can’t be found in line- free. Pearson’s was the best so far.

Not updated and Contains Errors
As other reviewers have stated, the study guide is not updated to reflect the changes to the test. Additionally, the multiple-choice section on the first diagnostic test is incorrect. The questions are out of order and the explanations seem to reflect other questions than those answered. It is difficult to decipher an actual score or the correct answer to a particular question. I do not recommend this as a study guide.

Not really updated
The book doesn't actually reflect the new multiple-choice questions. The content it has is fine and useful, but the new question type isn't here.

Not Updated
First, the publisher promised that it was way ahead of everyone else with the exam changes back in May when my school placed its initial order. Then, we were informed that the updated edition would be ready in December, then January. When it finally became available for purchase, the 2020 edition in no way resembled the changes to the exam. I am so very disappointed and am returning our school's order.
