Procured to see if it helped someone with Parkinson's have an easier time eating.It was unclear whether it helped or not. The design and concept seem solid and probably works okay for many. Our issue was that after one run thru the dishwasher, using liquid detergent, it appears the detergent ate into the ploatic and left a lot of residue on the plate. After a lot of soaking and scraping I got most of the white stuff off (soap or corroded plastic?) but it still looks bad. We run losts of plastics thru the dishwasher and have not seen this since we switched from powder to liquid soap several years ago. So bottom line, if you get one, wash it my hand.

This is a great plate. We have a dog with few teeth. He is short and doesn’t like a deep dish so we were using a plate. The food wood scoot off as he ate. I have worked in healthcare and thought about this type of plate and wondered if it would work for our situation. It works great! The food stays in the dish and he likes it since it’s not deep.

Bought for spouse who has Parkinson’s. It’s working very good for him. If I am cutting any of his meal for him I do it on a different plate because I think this one would scratch

Stains with tomato sauce. Been through dishwasher for 3 months still very strong no sign of degradation

The Maddak inner-lip plate has been used by my blind son for most of his life. We used to get them through this special catalog for the blind. I was delighted to find they sell them here. This plate helps him to eat, keeping the food on his plate. He has some delays, so being able to eat independently makes him very happy. We've used them in the microwave and in the dishwasher for many years and they held up well. We bought new ones because his dad and I used a serrated knife with his old plates that really roughed them up. (Note to self, don't cut meat with a serrated knife on this plate.)

My father has Parkinson's and this plate was perfect for him when he got out of rehab.

I was told that people with dementia eat better from a red plate as well as some other colors. When my grandma started to not eat even her favorite foods well I decided to try it. I can’t say I understand it but she is eating so much better using this plate. It is also easier for her to scoop her food on the lip of the plate. We have less mess on the table and more food in her. Such a simple solution for something so important!

Nice bowl size, just wish the sides were much higher as food still dumps out while scooping food into spoon or fork while eating

I purchased these plates for my 84 year old Mom who experiences action-oriented hand tremors. She was very grateful for the design of these plates, said they are "great" and it is now "a lot easier" to eat her meals. She does not mind that they are plastic and the lighter weight is actually a bonus.

I have plenty to say regarding the costs of disability related items and it’s just eeek! Plate itself is great and because I am in a long term care home and only have access to industrial type sanitizers that must be a minimum of 170 degrees F I can’t be picky. I have had this plate for a while now and I used it regularly for lunches and dinners when we were on styrofoam take out style plates for our tray service during any outbreaks or short staffings. It is still in mint condition and I can easily say it’s been used over 100 times!I recommend this to anyone who has a need for either a super durable plate or a plate for assistance in eating!What I love most about this plate is how much easier it is to eat of off with just one utensil!

I didn’t get to see the plates myself, as this was shipped as a gift to someone else. But I can say they were very pleased with it. They thought it was nice quality, sturdy, and useful for avoiding spills. They also liked the look and colour of these plates.
