This is my third year using the Grammar Minutes books. We love them! They cover a lot of grade appropriate material and provide review as well.

Great supplement to any language arts program. It gives you a very brief lesson and ample practice to reinforce the lesson. We will buy more books from this series.

Great for 5 minute fillers and sub days.

I'm a former high school English teacher who is now homeschooling my own kids. Like others, I don't love that the authors of books like this one use terminology such as "telling sentences" and "naming words" instead of declaratory sentences and nouns. But what really upset me was this book calling have, has, and had linking verbs. No. They are transitive action verbs or auxiliary/helping verbs. Knowing the distinction is important for grammar in later grades.I like the idea of quick grammar practice. But I won't buy this particular book for my younger children.ETA: As my child and I continue working through one page a day, I'm finding more and more problems with this book. The explanation of when to use subjective and objective case pronouns is flawed, and some of the answers are incorrect. "I can ride my bike faster than him" may sound okay in language we use with our friends, but it is not standard and is not correct. "I can ride my bike faster than he (can)." I understand that we don't introduce clauses to first graders, so this example should not have been used at all.
