Once you have the base model, you can add these economically-priced handsets as needed. They function flawlessly! Sound quality is excellent, the weight and size is comfortable, (even for extended conversations), the base charger is attractive and takes up very little space and the battery lasts a good, long time between charges. I have a couple of these and I'm very happy with their performance. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ tech was most helpful *by D***E on March 24, 2023* I have used this set with 4 handsets for well over 10 years and still works beautifully. untill I accidently left one out in the rain. Ordered a new extension but had trouble getting it to register with the main cradle. I called Mike, the tec, who returned my call promptly. He was knowledgeable, patient and courteous and got me up and running quickly. If I ever need to replace my existing phone set I will certainly go to vtech. needless to say that I am very happy with my purchase. I filed for a refund and returned the defective phone per Amazon's instructions. I paid $16.95 for each phone but the refund for the one defective phone was only for $8.90.
