Fellowes Professional Series Back Support, Black (8037601)

I've only been using this a week but it's been wonderful. I've tried a number of different lower back supports over the last couple years and just wasn't happy with any of them for one reason or another. The middle-back support on this one is the main thing that sets it apart. The other is that it has a strap that goes over the back of your chair to help keep it from sliding down, which is a common issue in others. This has stayed in place wonderfully. It has without a doubt improved my desk ergonomics.

I purchased my Fellowes Professional Series Back Support through the Amazon Warehouse (used-like new condition) to save a few bucks. It installed quickly on my Hon Ignition Task Chair, Black , which while a supportive, comfortable office chair - isn't the best on my back for long computer sessions. Playing with the placement of the back support straps and then cinching them into position takes a little time, and with this chair the fit isn't ideal, but truly I think it can be adapted to fit most office chairs assuming they are not 'manager or executive' types with extra tall or wide backs. Very little info comes with this item, but the best fit is achieved by moving it around until you feel comfortable. For me, that means the top-center cushion sits between my shoulder blades, about at 'bra strap level'. (Sorry... not sure how to put that any other way!) The lumbar support placed right in the small of my back above my hips pretty much gives me a perfect fit. POINT TO CONSIDER BEFORE PURCHASING: I'm 5'6" and of average weight. I think this product would be a good one for most people 5'4" - 5'8", but taller or shorter folks may not find the fit to be as good. There is no way to increase or diminish the space between the two padded areas. The pads can be removed from each section of the back support, and the cover (with straps attached) can be hand washed or machine washed on low. I am pleased I decided to purchase this product for added comfort while spending extended hours at my desk. It provides me with support for a more comfortable spine alignment, which in turn removed the need for me to get a lift for my feet for proper ergonomics. Nice design, well made, feels good (not too hard or too soft) and will fit different sizes of office chairs via easy strap adjustments. I recommend it!

great product and my back notices the pain relieve while i drive whether it's a short or hours long drive. looking to purchase another another one for a other vehicle.

The Fellowes Back Support is a good support for the lumbar region -- although I removed the triangular foam in the upper part because it somewhat negated the support for the lower section. So for some, it would be more cost efficient to get JUST the lumbar support, if they could find one with such a secure attachment system as this one has. (Note: The upper foam section is removable; there is a zipper through which you can wiggle the foam piece out. Be careful as you could potentially rip it.) Many reviewers on other pads complain that theirs moves around, etc., and goes flat. I've never had a problem with it going flat (in the two weeks I've had it), but it does move up and down, slightly. It could also be my chair (a Humanscale Freedom), which has a gap behind the backrest where the straps connect -- i.e. there is no friction to keep it in place. I will say that the straps and buckles are well-made and do a pretty good job of keeping the pad in place. One thing to consider is that it WILL push your butt forward slightly on the bottom of the chair. This is fine if you have an adjustable seat depth, or a deeper chair. Make sure you read about proper seat depth for leg circulation, etc., and plan/adjust accordingly. Overall - great product. Four stars for the product, only subtracted one for the upper triangular pad which doesn't seem to do anything, and probably drives the price slightly higher.

This cushion would be off-the-charts great if it was bigger, both to fit my back better, and my office chairs. My wife purchased this for me in the hopes that it would relieve my back pain. I am 5'7'', 205 lbs, and I think its too small for my back... The dimensions in the description are accurate. It's about 15x14 inches. On a positive note: It is quite comfy where it does make a connection against my back. The cushioning is firm, and It actually feels like a nice pressure-point massage, and it is helpful to keeping good posture while seated. The cushions are removable, which is nice if you need to wash the cloth. The downside is, like I said, its too small IMO. It needs to be taller and wider. I have two highly-adjustable high-back leather office chairs with adjustable lumbar support, and one cheaper cloth low-back. The straps fit all the chairs, but the cushion doesn't feel right, at least for me, on the high-back chairs even after several adjustments. It seems to work best on the low-back, so that's where its going to stay. I'm keeping the cushion since I got it for a great price, but it seems to have been made for teeny-tiny people. I probably would have returned this item if it was purchased at full price. I suspect this cushion is best suited to very cheap, flat-cushioned, low-backed chairs.

I've tried several solutions, several products... this one is by far my favorite. I have one at work at home.

I'm suffering from a lower lumbar injury and have been experiencing chronic pain for 10 months and it has gotten to a point that it's close to unbearable. I lose at least 3 hrs of sleep per night rolling around trying to get out of pain. I'm on a deadline to complete a work project and I've hardly been able to work at my desk. When this product arrived, I had been sitting at my desk for at least 6hrs straight and was coming into a lot of pain. I could hardly hold myself up. I unwrapped it immediately and put it on my chair, so easy and seems like it would fit any chair. Sat down and WOW! What a difference! The way that it aligned my posture and brought me into a position that is comfortable for working. None of the other similar products had an upper back cushion as well or the top strap to hold her up.. This is really helping to get my shoulders back. The cushion is such a nice spoungyness to lean back on and this completely rearranged my posture. You can adjust it higher or lower for your needs and no need to readjust it constantly from slipping around because the strap goes over the top as well as around the back and holds it in place. This product is well made, looks visually pleasing, seems it might be washable as it has some zippers on the cushions, is very functional and so I will also say that it's a good price for an item that's gonna save my back and help me get back to work so I'm not out of house and home soon. Do not hesitate to buy this product or think of ordering any other. Just look no further, seriously. I don't write reviews but I read tons of them before making a purchase and I want you to get out of pain too. Good luck!

This is a well-made, well-engineered back support. Far better quality than any of the others I've purchased. I sit many long hours in an office chair working at my sewing machine--after a few hours, my back hurts a lot regardless of the height adjustments, etc. that I make to alleviate and correct the problems. So I bought this back support in hopes it would give me some real relief. The relief has been there, but not total relief (perhaps that's too much to hope for). I can sit for longer than I could before, so that is a good thing, but still not as long as I'd like. The bad thing is that this is not a particularly comfortable support to lean back against--it feels hard and very solid behind me, not cushy and comforting. Perhaps that's the way it's supposed to be. I am short (5'2") and this is a bit tall for my back, so it's been difficult to get it adjusted just right for the small of my back. The straps and fastening setup on this back support do seem to be a lot better than what you usually get, and it does stay on the chair, in the position you want it to be in quite well. I think if you were taller than I am, this would be a very good support. The quality is certainly superior.

Fortunately, someone had taken the trouble to provide a very useful review of this product. This tipped the balance in favour of buying the product. I have not been disappointed! The support is made from quality materials and is not only comfortable but provides that all important support for the lower back. In truth my current leather chair is a little like its owner. It is knackered! At least with the chair I can buy a new one but in the meantime this back rest is brilliant. As and when I get a new chair the back rest can be transferred to the new chair. This back rest may seem expensive compared to others on the market but at least it is cheaper than a visit to the osteopath and it should last a long time.

Un support dorsal réellement bien conçu ! Acheté suite à des problèmes de dos : trop de PC (un roman en cours d'édition et d'autres en cours d'écriture ... ) Des heures et des heures à écrire, sans faire attention ni au temps qui passe et pire, à ma condition physique. Outre l'achat, le prêt etc. d'appareils de musculation, une meilleure hygiène de vie, le travail demeure le même. Force de constater aussi que l'on se tient souvent très mal à son poste de travail ! Internet offre beaucoup de conseils qu'il eut été opportun de consulter à titre préventif :) Ce support cale bien le dos, confortable et incite à se tenir plus droit. Ne tient pas chaud -en ce moment c'est assez précieux- facile à installer. Autre point pas négligeable : évite d'avoir à acheter une nouvelle chaise de bureau ! Bref, j'en suis très contente

This product is not for everyone, and certainly not for every chair. However, this was PERFECT for my oversized chair. I have used at least 2 different seat cushions, and 3 other different lumbar support pillows. This one has been the best so far. Big chair vs Small chair: - My chair was too big in every way. The width of this product makes it so my back can rest on it, and actually get additional support. I can imagine that people who use chairs that are smaller, or at least their size, will have a problem with this product making their seat too small. For me, it was perfect. Adjustable: 4.5/5 - The straps can be adjusted so you can make it tighter/looser, or higher/lower - Not as adjustable as it would be if it had separate pieces, but it suited my needs perfectly; I suffer from back pain, but this product has helped a LOT with that Pain relief: 5/5 - The pads are quite solid, and provide a lot of support; however they are also soft enough to not cause pressure points, based on my usage - I spend a LOT of time on the computer and this product has made a huge difference. It's not a miracle product, but it fits my oversized chair perfectly.

Il prodotto è meglio di quello che sembra, si adatta a qualsiasi tipo di sedia, consente di assumere una postura corretta. i cuscinetti morbidi si adattatto alla conformazione della schiena e non scaldano poi tanto. la forma particolare (scapole libere), invoglia a non curvarsi su se stessi. Personalmente ho migliorato di molto le tensioni muscolari che avvertivo prima.
