Amazing reel
Great reel, cast super smooth and reels super smoothOne thing I do t like is its a little hard and confusing to close the brake cover but besides that 10/10 worth the moneyAlso I have it paired up with a Shimano sellus 7,2 med hvy

Milspec. Best casting reel you can buy under $200
There isn’t a casting reel on the market under $200 that even compares to the SLX. I fish 5-6 days a week and have used this reel on a Loomis GCX jwr Rod. Perfection. Great balance, ample drag, Shimano reliability, and I reach for my SLX over my Curado. It palms nicely and is light weight.Highly recommend.

Exceeded my expectations
This is the best bait caster reel I have ever had. Super smooth and easy to cast. Have nothing negative to sat about it. Highly recommend. Definitely sticking to this brand from now on.

Tough to beat for the price. Shimano never fails
I bought this reel to use for pitching and flipping. I have it paired with an SLX heavy rod and have been very happy with it. Not as good as my Curado but also half the price. Everytime I am considering to purchase a new reel, this is one of the first ones I look at. Strongly recommend!

A smooth casting reel!
Wow..I fish alot of tournaments and fish on a regular basis. I own several Shimano slx and curado dcs..this one is way smoother. Just a delight to cast. I paired this with a chatterbait rod. I used it in super clear water and man can it cast a distance! Love it.

Build ok
The reel itself is very nice, the only issue I have with it is the drag dial. The dial is half covered with the body of the reel. So that makes it hard to use the dial with big fingers. The dial itself is hard to turn to the desired position.

Love it for the price
I have a few different shimano bait casting reels and this is one of my favorites. For the price point, it functions great and I would recommend this especially for people just getting into bait casters. I will probably get another one soon.
