Yes, the lanyard hole is actually the end of the tang. it is a strong knife but the grip is coming off of mine, it was cheap plastic.

The pocket in the front of the sheath is around 3 inches long from top to bottom of the pocket. The lid reaches halfway down for a good cover. The width is around an inch and a half. The sheath us very durable.
