Microsoft SharePoint 2013 Plain & Simple

This book is written very easy to understand and follow the step to accomplish a task. They didn't cover an installation and configuration section of sharepoint. They assume you already have a system setup and running and this book will take place to guide you on how to use sharepoint. The book just give you short overview of each topic and a step by step with color graphical user interface. This book is written for beginner level. Thank to all of three Author, Jonathan Lightfoot, Michelle Lopez and Scott Metker for their good written style and make this book so easy to read and follow.

Did not know anything about sharepoint development and this allowed me to get familiar very quickly

I use this book as an instructor. It helps paint the big picture as well as serves as a course take away in the form of a vast quick reference guide.

Microsoft has made several changes to SharePoint 2013 and this book, as its name suggests, describes it "Plain and Simple". Very easy read with excellent color illustrations to walk you through the new features and changes in this new version.

Book has all the information I could hope for. Only using for reference currently as I have not had a chance to just read. Using as refwrench however it has been exeedingly helpful.

Excellent for beginners. Good learning process though it assumes you have site administrator permission level which some newbies may not get or understand. This could lead to some frustration. But overall, it is great for first time exposure and learning your way around SP!

Great for a novice or for an end user. Not as technical as I had hoped. Answered basic questions.

Hard to follow as fonts are mostly grey and small making it hard to read and screenshot are so small they're unreadable for people like me! I'm struggling even with my glasses on! Also not written with user experience in mind in my views!

My feeling is that some of the areas should have been treated in more depth. You get an idea of how Sharepoint 2013 works, but to really work on it you would need to get another manual. It is like an introduction to the product and show its possibilities. Very good. But I got a second one to learn the Administration of Sharepoint 2013.
