Fast delivery, the little led light doesn't work, but I don't need it.

Good for installing connectors
I have a good soldering station for circuit board work, but often needed an iron for wiring projects. It was a pain to move my soldering station around so I decided to try this. Iron only takes a couple minutes to heat up and works well for wiring. I wouldn't use this on circuit boards, but if you need to put connectors on wires on location this is a good option.

So far so good; use proper care and it does a pretty good job.
Cheap and works, a good combination. Uses 3 AA batteries, not included, but the third lone battery operates the built in light; so it's pretty much optional. The tip should be tinned before use, as you all should be aware of. If not, you can watch some tinning videos on YouTube. The tip is not designed for prolonged use on larger wires, and since it runs off of AA batteries it is better for shorter flash soldering on smaller wires for minor circuitry work. The instructions suggest taking out the batteries when not in use or it may leak battery acid after a while, and this is kind of a hassle for most people. However, for the money and the decent performance I feel it is worth a 5-star rating. Only it's reliability and longevity can alter my rating; So far so good.

I miss my $12…
Idk about this one. Maybe spend a few extra bucks and get a better one then tell me how that one works. Since I warned you about this one. It basically works when it wants too and goes through a set of batteries about every one to two solders. The most I've got out of it was three wires on one set of batteries. And I have had it for many moons now and waited to review it. I did all the research I could and got more from reviews and YouTube. I have yet to complete a job with just this unit. Always have to have my plug in or butane backup rockin and ready to go. This one just doesn't cut it. But it has helped me with my patience because I really wanted to smash it with a hammer on many occasions. I sure do miss them $12…

Bang for your Buck
I work on Rc Vehicles all the time. Soldering is pretty important for soldering plug onto batteries/chargers. So I got the cheapest one I could find to try it out. It's not a pro soldering gun but it gets the job done perfectly, so I'm pretty happy. Stand isn't the best though because its base isn't wide enough to really hold the weight of the gun on it. Tip: Hot glue a Popsicle stick on the bottom of the base to make an upside-down T. Now it won't fall over even if you wobble the table a bit! BUY IT if you want to get into soldering

this thing is the worst solder iron ive ever had it burns thru batteries ...
this thing is the worst solder iron ive ever had it burns thru batteries like it should solder but is worthless as far a a soldering iron goes that and the led light does not work on either or the ones sent .. save yourself the headache and money and dont buy this iron

It's not bad, but it's not good.
no plug in for a 12 volt, uses 3x AA, and it chews through them like they're nothing. ...Figured it would be a good buy and had a DC plug somewhere on it but Nope. As for soldering, it worked okay enough. Pretty fast, gets hot. The normal solder business. I was a little disappointed.
