I am a painter. I've painted with oil paints since high school, and have had concerns about the toxicity of the oils. I moved away from Turpentine years ago, but still loved the blending of oil paints.I knew the Golden name from other painters who said the acrylic paint was the best affordable on the market! When I heard about their OPEN series, that dry slower, able to blend easier, I had my doubts. However, I finally gave it a go, and I've been using them for about 3 years now. They are as close to oil as you can get with acrylic blends. They do dry quicker, so you still have to treat them differently, but the blending is so much more available and intuitive compared to regular acrylic medium. They are a bit more transparent than their acrylic partners, but so well worth the extra money.I still use oils sometimes, but very sparingly. I've almost completely moved over to these Golden OPEN Acrylics. It's easier cleanup, cost is about the same or less than oils, and I love the results.

great service, great product. this "open" acrylic paint series by golden, is the link between fast drying water based, and slow drying oil based artist's paint. in some instances, it's better than either. try it, and see for yourself. btw, nobody pays me to say this stuff, -i tried it, and now use it alongside my conventional acrylics. it worked out really well for me, and i thought that i'd pass it along.
