let me just say that I love the story
I won't be reviewing the story here, just the audio presentation of it. So you know where I'm coming from, let me just say that I love the story, will be buying the extended editions of the Swedish version of all three films, and think the American version of the film didn't need to be made - it was ok, but didn't add a whole lot.On to the audio review - Simon Vance is AWESOME as a narrator. He has a solid knowledge of character development, voice, dramatic tension, and all of the other things that make a voice actor great. Since Mr. Vance was (or maybe is) a newsreader for British TV, he has a very melodious and sonorous voice that makes it pleasant to listen to for long whiles. His diction is very good and his accent isn't one that makes if difficult for an American with average exposure to British accents to understand (I still need subtitles for some of the BBC exports).I plan on purchasing the next two audiobooks in the series both because I like the stories, and I am a fan of his work. Once I'm done with them, I may need to start looking into other authors who may use Mr. Vance to narrate their books.

Doesn’t match description
This is not the product I thought I was ordering based on the pictures. It’s a different cover and much smaller and thicker than the versions with the cover advertised.

Simon Vance is a terrific reader
I've listened to a lot of audiobooks in the car while commuting, some by readers who've won awards for their work yet could never approach this quality. Simon Vance is truly one of the better readers, and he does a terrific job with this series. If you like the book you should love this performance.

The Story Behind the Dragon Tattoo
After I finished this book I was ready to jump onto the computer and share my thoughts with the world because of how exciting this book was. I will admit that when I started the first hundred pages I had a hard time getting into it because of the slow pace. But once I got to the meat of the action I didn’t want to put the book down. The book has a mixture of a murder mystery, work-business politics, crazy family drama but also has the story of a unique friendship coming to life. I was like not how the book will end but trying to find out what happened to the missing girl was something I must know. The characters themselves were what made the story. Blomkvist is this disgraced journalist trying to pick up the pieces after a scandal and ready to face his punishment. But once he is in the job he is like a detective. Someone who knows how to ask the right questions and look behind the pictures. Salander herself is a total badass with talents of her home. If you also like books where a kick-ass hacker is involved this one puts them to shame. She knows how to find every part of someone’s history, secrets, and everything that that person's problem forgot about themselves. I like how once both characters got together helped make the story even better.Overall in my opinion this book was not bad. Despite the slow start at the beginning, the story held up on its own. It’s not the best of the best when it comes to mystery thrillers but this book had enough going for itself to keep my interest till the end. I do know that the book is the first in a series of books and can’t wait to see what happens next.
