Orly One Night Stand Peel-Off Basecoat, 0.6 Fluid Ounce

I don't know when they changed the formula, but a lot of the reviews are definitely from BEFORE. From what I gather, it used to have a glue-based formula, which gave it a glue-y smell and texture. Now, it applies, looks, and smells just like nail polish. If you're looking for a peel-off base and were turned off from this one by Christine (SimplyNailogical)'s comparison video, the formula has definitely changed since then. It really is only for short-term wear, and if you want a long lasting manicure, you don't want a peel-off base coat. Though as other reviewers have suggested, you can make it last a bit longer by not extending all the way to the sides of your nails but rather just doing a stripe down the middle. So you'll still have to use acetone on the edges, but at least it won't be as bad as without. Great for swatching new colors or trying out new designs, or if you just get tired of your color/design quickly. I've found that using a top coat as your base coat also effectively turns it into a peel-off, at least on my nails, so this may be something to consider if you don't want to buy an additional product. Also! If you want to prevent staining, just put a neutral or clear coat on top of the peel-off before painting on your design or color.

This is great if you are just doing nails to photograph and then clear them off quickly or if you are using this for a child. It will peel completely off within 24 hours or putting on, its reminiscent of the kids nail polish that we used back in the day. It just makes adult nail polish react the same way. I have to give it a 5 star because it works exactly as it says it does, but I wish I had read it more thoroughly because for long term wear this is not your huckleberry.

This product does not work. After it dries it just peels off. Manicure did not even last a few hours, and the entire polish just fell off.

Giving it 2 stars because it came off so easy but really too easy. I only had it on for about an hour and it slid right off my nail. I. All fairness I know from other products this might work great for some people but for this price I expected more. Since I am new to doing nails this will work for me to test out designs quickly but will need to remove and use normal base coat for more longevity (at least more than a few hours 😄)

This is truly a one-day peely base coat. I have experimented with different methods. I've created a moat, I've used just a dot, I've used it with and without a normal base coat, and I always use a top coat. This is best for swatching or if you really just need a quit color change. I wanted something more like the glitter-off peely base that another major retailer no longer sells, and this was NOT IT. It has a place insofar as sometimes I will only want a mani for a moment or for a swatch, but otherwise this is kind of useless. Much less staying power than the aforementioned glitter off peely base.

Dries fast, works well, but definitely only lasts one or two days. It also does not prevent staining like a typical base coat. So while it makes glitter nail polish a thousand times easier to remove, I’d love to see a version that actually protects my nail a little better! I will absolutely use it, and buy again, but there’s always room for improvement.

This was great for glitter polish! Just put it on like a regular base coat, do your nails and pop them off when you're done. It does only last about a day though, because a couple came off while I slept.

Honestly works very well. Applies like regular polish base and takes a few minutes to dry before applying gel or reg. polish (I tested both). Doesn’t damage your nails and I applied to various enhancements-all worked perfectly.
