Umm, it isn't insulated?
I order the insulated pad. I received a pad in a bag marking it as an insulated pad.Item description says there is a layer of insulation between the two halves of the pad.My pad, the one I received, in a bag that says it is insulated, is just a thin air mattress. There isn't anything inside between the halves or anything like that. I first noticed it when I set up everything on the floor to try it all out before actually heading out for somewhere. This was done in part because apparently winter is coming quite early so I'm not going to get to use any of this stuff this year. Anyway, when rolling everything back up I noticed that the pad felt pretty empty and thin. I grabbed a scope camera and fed it in through the deflate valve to find an empty hollow pad.Upon checking the listing again today to confirm what my memory already told me (that there is a layer of insulation between the two halves), I also notice that today at least the price for the insulated and uninsulated pads is exactly the same. When I ordered this, the insulated pad cost more and I debated spending that extra money and after a few hours decided it would be worth it to have that insulation in the pad, so I spent the extra money for it. Now I find that I paid for an insulated pad, and the pad came in a stuff sack saying it was an insulated pad, but I didn't actually get an insulated pad. Bait and switch? Inventory or manufacturing screw up? I have no idea, all I know is that I didn't get what I ordered.Beyond that this pad on the floor wasn't overly comfortable. I laid on if for a half hour or more in a few positions and while I could probably sleep that way I don't think I would be happy with it in the morning. Yes I let air air to adjust the firmness of the pad and such, it just wasn't that grand to use on the floor due to it being so thin. I suspect that it'll be just fine in a hammock, but have to wait for Spring '22 to find that out.

Turn your hammock into a cozy bed
I have only used this while hammocking in florida, so even our Florida nights aren't quite what most of you are expecting. Having said the very first night i used this i woke up not even noticing i was outside while my tent sleeping friends looked like they wanted to sleep in the car (they looked frozen and were all bundled up) 😅 I've slept on this in warm weather here in Florida and i did not feel like this contributed to me being hot at all. I wish it was cheaper so i could buy one for every one I know with a hammock. Highly recommend. Maybe it's just my lungs but it was a bit harder to blow up than it seemed from the description. Overall great product.

READ THIS! I really wanted this to work! (Insulated)
PROS: When it's fully inflated it is super comfortable. My hammock is wide and with a diagonal lay this is so damn comfortable it's almost unfair. As for insulation I took this down to the 40s and when FULLY INFLATED it did it's job well enough.Another potential pro is I still carry a small pad it case I need to stay on the ground for a night Ideally this means I would be using the pad and leaving an underquilt instead of carrying both.CONS: The most important con is it slowly leaks from the deflate valve. I have tried to get it to stop but even with no weight on the pad it loses pressure. This negates the insulation. In 40 degree weather once you lose loft one side can touch the other. Where it touches the material conducts the cold and it will spread thru the pad actually making it very chilly. In a tent I can see, and have, gotten up to fill my pad in the night but in a hammock this is a huge pain. The following cons could be overlooked if it didn't leak. Folding up the pad in the morning is easier and cleaner in a tent. It's a bit heavy.RECOMMENDATION TO KLYMIT: Replace the deflate plug with a screw valve on the side and this thing will be the best thing ever.

Gives nice form to hammock
I have had 2 spinal fusions and wanted to section hike the AT in a hammock. I shopped and shopped and found this insulated pad from Klymit. It gives the hammock some form much like a bed and the sticky pads on the bottom help to keep it in place inside the hammock. The "wings" are nice as well to help keep you warm when your legs and arms touch the side of the hammock. It was pretty easy to inflate. Just focus on not letting the air back out at the escape flap doesn't necessarily stay in place during inflation. If you have back issues but don't want to let it hinder you from hiking and camping then this is for you. Spend the money and get the added benefit. You'll just trade off a little weight

Doesn't work below freezing.
Did a lot of cold weather hammock testing with an underquilt and sleeping bag. In a 60° house it's very warm, but outside when it's below freezing the wings act like a heat sink (just my theory) and actually make you colder. You warm the air inside and it travels up the wings which stick out in the cold air and dissipate your heat. It does hold the hammock open and adds rigidity which is comfortable, but slides around a lot. Might be ok above freezing. Nowhere near worth the money.

Not as good as Insulated version
I would stay away from this uninsulated version. It has thinner material than insulated version and any other static V pads uninsulated or insulated. Owning number of other Klymit pads as well as insulated Hammock V, I was very disappointed with this one. They should have used same thicker material as regular Static V pads. It may be more flexible and softer to function as hammock pad. However, it feels like kiddy floatie in the hammock. Sure enough, it lost air over night and I had to use back up under quilt.

Doesnt hold air - recent trend?
As of other reviewers, this deflated itself over night without weight or being used. Also, i question the insulated quality, even in dim lighting i can see my fingers through this. Also, another point of deep discontent - how difficult it is to roll up . As I prepped to return this, the remaining air took me over 30 minutes of rolling / rerolling to get enough out it could fit back into its own carry bag, Those wings tend to be hold the air and have to be rolled just right to prevent re-entry of air into the wings when rolling the body. If you like losing air, poor insulation, very high cost and a frustrating morning to repack this thing, thing it's the mat for you.

Didn't hold air for more than three hours
Had such potential. Incredibly fast delivery. Unfortunately my first try in the hammock after about three hours or so I was laying on a flat air pad. Had to blow up again then eventually had to remove it as it wasn't staying inflated. Gkad I wasn't away for a few days winter hammocking or id have been stuffed. Had it not deflated on its first use I'd have thought it was great as it didn't move about. I returned it immediately. The return was easy enough. Shame but I was put off by a fault first go snd couldn't take a chance on a winter trip. Cant recommend

1st impressions
Looking forward to testing this in the wild- having attempted klymit v lux extra wide in a hammock and finding it slipping around like a greased eal in a tub of vaseline ( ok, this otherwise excellent product's not designed for hammocks) decided to try this. Weight wise, for an insulated large pad its actually ok- especially factoring in a) its perfectly useable on the ground, no trees required and b) you (hopefully...) wont need the additional bulky underquilt it should replace. Unless your one of those minimalist ultra light feral survivalist types ( been there, why suffer for the sake of a little extra weight- bulk up and dig in up you feeble milenial dweebs !! ) its a great piece of kit.

Fab warmth. Tricky to deflate.
I loved the warmth of this instantly but it was too wide for my bridge hammock so replaced with lux wide in the same range which is perfect.

Klymit are great value
Works incredibly well. Packs down to something approaching a round a litre in size.

A new level of hammock camping comfort
So far so good. I had read a few negative reviews about air leaking in cold temperatures but that was not my experience. The one way valve worked well. I inflated the mat with about 15 breaths to full but needed to deflate it a little for sleeping. With a normal sleeping pad I'd sometimes wake up in the morning with it half off one side of the hammock. This pad stayed in place in the hammock. It did not shift at all during the night. I purposely shifted around in my sleeping bag to test out the sides, find cold spots, any sort of negative. There were none.Comfort was next level. Like spooning with Stay Puft Marshmallow man while he gently rocks you to sleep.I was really worried I'd regret this purchase. Considering that it cost as much as all my other sleeping pads combined it had better be good. In comparison to my other sleeping pads it is lighter and more compact and will now be the only sleeping pad I will take when I hammock camp.
