Dorman 523-007 Rear Lower Rearward Lateral Arm and Ball Joint Assembly Compatible with Select Ford / Lincoln / Mercury Models

Fits Perfect.

Bought two units at the same time. One had zerk fitting tap on the ball joint, the other did not. Couldn't tell if the frame mounts had grease in them... So one grease gun needle slid between the boot and sidewall (before mounting) and a few shots of lubrication ended all doubt.Installed easily. Work great so far.

The grease fitting in the end that is inside the rim path is to tall and rubs on the rim. I pumped the fitting full of grease to be sure "knuckle" was full then removed fitting and installed threaded plug with low profile. otherwise this fit perfect and was quite a bit less expensive than stock.

This product is awesome! My old one the bushing gave out and the nub was very very loose causing some vibrations. After getting the bearing and center hub replaced on the wheel itself, I needed a new trailing arm. This came in quickly and I adjusted it exactly to the old once since the alignment was still on. Put some copper grease on it, had to slightly tap it in. Tightened it down and it has been working perfect ever since.

Everything is of fine quality and works well. Much cheaper than the ford stuff. When I put it on, the grease zerk was too big and ended up grinding a ring into the inside of the wheel. I have original wheels fwiw. Not a big deal, I just removed them and put a small screw in their place.

I had no issues installing or with fitting this part on an '02 Explorer 4-Door. The outer ball joint is sealed. There must have been an update to remove the Zerk fitting that's shown in the photo and apparently was of issue according to earlier reviews. The length is adjustable, I laid this down next to the old part to tune the length. Its the correct part for Explorers built after 3/4/02, right or left side.

I bought a pair of these for my 03 Explorer in September 12, 2022, today is November 17, 2022 and they are both worn completely out! To the point my vehicle is unsafe to drive. Both sides installed as a pair at the same time, and in just two months time they are worn out at each outside ball joint, and they also now have excess slack in the inner ball joints as well! C’mon Doorman, I know you make and sell a cheaper product than OEM, (and I can appreciate that) but this is even beyond your normal! These are nothing more than a cheap piece of CRAP!!! I am very disappointed with this product and I will not recommend anyone buy them!!! Definitely not worth the money or the time and effort required to change them out. And now I get to buy another pair and replace them, more money and time I don’t have. You really screwed me over good! By the way, I will not be purchasing your product as a replacement for these parts again! I will find a better quality product from someone else!Thank you!

After much study and research, this is the correct part for my truck. I installed it myself pretty easily. You’ll need an alignment when finished, but it cleared up any instability I had in the rear end of my truck.
