Attack on Titan: Colossal Edition 1

Perfect for collectors and fans of AOT!
I decided to start collecting these instead of the normal manga, and I’m so glad I did! I love that each book includes 5 volumes, the pages are amazing glossy quality, and each cover has a memorable titan shifter from the series. It’s also so much better to see the art in a bigger book, you appreciate it more that way. My only critique is that for the price, I wish they were hardcover, but besides that they are perfection!

Buy 2 at a time!!
This series is phenomenal. I'd recommend the anime before the manga, like most others would. However, regardless, the first book may seem a bit slow, but it is simply setting the stage for an EPIC story, and EVERY little detail counts. I mistakenly purchased only this one, and was left desperately waiting for the second. Buy two at a time, and buy another two once you've gotten through the first (If you want to (Which you will)). This is one of the best narratives I've ever taken in. Game of Thrones was ruined, but this is a tale told all the way through in an amount of depth you could never see coming. This is the anime/manga that got me into anime/manga. This story bridges the whole world together wi the universal messages that EVERYONE can benefit from. All hail AoT/SNK

An impossible-to-put-down page-turner for both fans of the anime and newcomers alike!
As a fan of the anime, I've been holding off buying the individual volumes for various reasons but I just couldn't resist a well-priced collection of the first five. For those familiar with the anime, it covers up until some point in Episode 17 (out of 25) and includes Ilse's story, and OVA episode detailing a character who doesn't show up in the main story but has an important impact nonetheless. It shows how faithful the anime was to the source material, with the exception of putting the story of Episode 3 where it chronologically belongs as the manga has those events as a flashback later on. Otherwise, it's completely like the anime which is a testament to how great of a story the manga is on its own. The anime is so strong because the manga was so strong. While nothing major is changed from the anime, it is still something I recommend to all fans, especially those who value the "rewatch" value of an anime. Reading it is as impactful as watching it, and even if you know where it's going you still can't put it down. I'll say that, if you've seen the anime, you've marathoned at least part of it, so I'll just call this a page-turner to say the least. Attack on Titan is a story many people crave, and at least this does the courteous thing of being faster to consume than the anime equivalent. If you haven't seen the Attack on Titan anime, then I suggest this to you as well. Actually, I'll say that you should read this first, as you'll probably hate yourself less for it. It's easier and quicker to read and blow off as much of your life as possible than to watch episodes and unwillingly watch more because you can't just stop watching them. Perhaps, after reading this, you'll be able to take in the anime series at a slower pace because no matter what medium you experience it, Attack on Titan is something you will not put down.I'm a huge Shingeki No Kyojin/Attack on Titan fan, and I hope a Colossal Edition for Volumes 6-10 come out soon!

Delivery 1: Misprinted Copy...... Delivery 2: Just a little dinged
Delivery 2:If you read below, you can see that I had to return a copy of this book because I had 20 pages of a copy misprinted. My new copy is properly printed. My only issue is that there are a couple of scratches and wear on the spine. The box was longer than the book, so it probably moved around in transit. My problem last time was how the book was misprinted and I do not care about the little bit of cosmetic damage. I cannot wait for my next paycheck to get Colossal 2!Delivery 1:I am sending this back because I had a misprint. I had 20 page section of the book printed off-center and inserted upside down and backwards. Oddly enough, the page numbers are printed correctly in the section printed upside down, however this misprinted section is the only part of my current copy with page numbers.Other then the misprint/misplaced pages, this book is good quality. The pages have a nice feel to them, the cover art is gorgeous, and the colored pages are wonderful to look at. The font sizes have increased in the upscaling process, so it is easier to read too.Look, I really want to collect the colossal editions of the AOT manga, but if my next copy is like this one, I’m sending it back and giving Barnes and Noble my money.Photo Description (photos no longer attached):Photo 1 and photo 2: Both are examples of a page being cut in the wrong place and the words being cut off.Photo 3 and 4: a visual of the upside down pages and how the pages were improperly placed into the book. The two pages do not line up plot wise too. The page on the left of photo 4 should be placed on the right in photo 3.
