Clarity of hearing right to your hearing aids
Clear voices from tv to hearing aids and I don’t have to have the tv volume so loud, so it is more comfortable for my wife to listen. Very easy to adjust the volume.Easy to set up, but then I did have to search through the sound settings on the tv to be able to hear it on the tv. This was not made clear in the instruction booklet.

No Ifs, No Buts. It Works.
Stunning!! Three weeks ago, pre Phonak Connector, I gave up trying to watch the film version of "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy". It has much low decibel, calm dialogue which I could only guess at, or pick up in short snatches.Enter the Phonak TV Connector! I gave "Tinker...." another go. Result, happiness! I actually understood the whole thing.I leave the TV speakers on "mute" if viewing alone, but unmute them if I have company - and they can be at a level which does not stir up the neighbours. Muted or not, I can keep listening if I go into the kitchen to make a sandwich. One thing to note, I only need to rest my thumb on the power button to switch the connector on or off. Initially, I was pressing it with increasing frustration. I don't think there is any clear instruction on this in the accompanying booklet. This bit of kit is a game-changer.

Good but there are a few things to think about.
I do have trouble hearing the TV without deafening my wife who has the most amazing hearing and can hear a pin drop.I wanted to connect my 5 year old Samsung TV using the optical output on the TV to the Phonak streamer and therefore be able to hear directly through my Phonak Marvel 90 rechargeable aids. My TV is connected via HDMI from a SkyQ box and the sound from the TV is streamed though a Yamaha Soundbar using an HDMI (ARC) output which I wanted to keep so my wife could still hear the TV at the level of volume that suited her.I asked the Amazon community if this was possible and received quite a few replies from users of the Phonak streamer. The answers varied from not at all to yes, no problem, one answer was for the Amazon seller Keep Hearing who said it would not work. Because of these replies I tried a bluetooth streamer I had through the optical output of the TV to a portable speaker and, hey presto it worked!I therefore bought the streamer and set it up in a few minutes, so simple. I originally positioned the streamer on the back of the TV but found that I occasionally lost stereo in one ear if I moved my head, I therefore changed the location of the streamer to just behind the soundbar, out of sight but pointing towards me, this solved that problem and I can now still hear the TV if I walk in to the next room!My next problem was, although I could hear the TV fine I couldn’t hear what my wife was saying if she talked to me. Using the updated Phonak app on my old iPhone 6s I could get on to the programme for the TV Mic and adjust the volume as required, this didn’t really help as either I could hear my wife or hear the TV, not both at the same time.I asked my audiologist if there was a solution to this and, of course, there is. On the Phonak app go to the TV programme and in the bottom right of the screen there is an icon of 3 small lines, click on this and it shows the balance of sound from the TV and the surrounding area (the room). You can then, using the slider, change the balance to suit your preferences. The good news is that, yes it works well, I can hear all the TV dialogue and other people in the room at the same time, the bad news is that, as all TV channels and programmes appear to have their own sound output level you do have to change the settings via the app for practically every programme so you are constantly fiddling to get things right. In AutoSence you change the volume by using the rocker switch on the hearing aids but in the TV streamer programme the rocker switches changes the balance between the room and the TV streamer, up for more TV, down for more room. One downside is that if I watch a DVD/Blu-ray the sound, which goes via HDMI directly to the soundbar it does not pass through the TV so I can’t use the Phonak streamer for this and just have to listen to the soundbar room output. It is a benefit if you have two remote controls so one person can change channels, fast forward etc and your partner can change the room volume to their level (or the other way round depending who’s in normally in charge of the TV viewing!).Another little problem is, if you don’t want to hear the TV yourself you can change the app setting to AutoSence and reduce to the volume whilst your partner carries on watching, however, if you leave the room and lose the Phonak connection to the TV once you return it defaults to TV streamer and doesn’t stay in AutoSence so you have to use the app again to go back to your previous setting. So, to sum up.The good news, very easy to set up, you definitely need the latest Phonak app to make it work sensibly and you can hear all dialogue including people whispering or mumbling. You do get full brilliant stereo, far better than just from the TV or soundbar! It connects instantly when you return to the TV having previously left the room. The not so good news, I can’t use it with the DVD player, you have to constantly adjust sound balance between programmes, if you partner needs the room sound on the higher side you may hear an echo between the room and streamer output unless you reduce the ambient sound thereby reducing the chance of hearing your partner. After a few weeks of using the Phonak Streamer, despite the cost, I would certainly recommend buying it.

Easy to connect
So easy to setup, plug the supplied lead into the digital output from the TV, plug in to power and press the button on the back of the unit, couple of beeps in the hearing aids and that's it, TV is no longer on for the neighbours, best bit was the wow from the person using the hearing aids, stating that the voices are so clear. Saved £60 from the cost of this unit from the local hearing clinic. Got this as it is the same brand as the hearing aids. The only downside is the volume control is manual, no remote.

Amazing
Couldn't believe what a difference this made to hearing the tv. Wish I had bought it when I first had my hearing aids. Love the fact that it shuts off the tv sound when there is an incoming phone call. So easy to set up. Very good that it can get its power from the tv via USB connection. It is just perfect.

It's expensive for what it is and it lacks a couple of features, but I can hear the TV clearly now.
Good points -1) With this box the sound from the TV is directed to my hearing aids and volume to my hearing aids is separate from the volume to the soundbar so I can hear the TV clearly and my husband is not blasted out of his seat.2) On the app you can adjust both the volume to the aids and the balance between hearing the TV and hearing the general environment. However it is not possible to mute the TV sound to the aids. Not so good points -1) There is no remote, the box sits close to the TV and the on/off and volume buttons are really hard to use so I control the volume via the app on my phone. Because the app quickly and automatically disconnects from the aids to save the battery on the aids it is a bit faff to change the volume. When the adverts come on (at a much greater volume than the programmes) I have to quickly pull the aids out of my ears to avoid destroying what hearing I have left. The aids themselves do have volume buttons, but when using the TV Connector box what they do is to change the balance between the TV and the room, not reduce the volume.2) If the TV is still on, even if I leave the room I am still connected to the TV connector program in the app until I'm out of range. To switch to Automatic I have to open the app again, wait for it to connect to my aids and then click on Automatic.3) A consequence of 1 & 2 is that when we make a passing remark about the TV programme (e.g. I'm sure I've seen that actor in another series...sort of thing) I can't easily hear him, so end up pulling one of my aids out of my ear and him speaking loudly into that ear. Not conducive to a quick chat!Summary - it's great that I can hear the TV, but a remote with an on/off button and the ability to control the volume would make it SO much more pleasant to use and really worth the (very expensive) price.

Danke.

Funktioniert, aber....
Positiv: Funktioniert einwandfrei, einfache Installation. Deutsche Beschreibung.
