The TedGem Webcam, Full HD 4K/1080P PC Webcam with Built-in Mic was extremely easy to install and set up. Thanks to the standard camera socket on its base it can be screwed onto any (large or small) photographic tripod with a ¼ inch mounting screw. It will also sit quite securely on the top edge of most modern flat screen monitors thanks to an ingenious clamping base.I’m running Windows 10 Pro and after inserting the USB plug into a USB 2 or USB 3 socket the unit was up and running in about 30 seconds with no problems whatsoever. A red led on the front of the camera lights up showing it is powered on and a green led illuminates when the unit is in use and supplying a video feed. The camera provides a video feed at 1080P (Full HD) and takes photos at 4K resolution.Both picture and sound are good and perfectly adequate for web conferences etc.which is what I purchased it for.Very pleased with purchase.

For the price this is a great product a bit fuzzy but if you’re just using for a small screen not noticable

I have a Mac Mini 2019 running the latest Catalina OS that does not have a built in webcam. I wanted a no frills webcam for video conf meetings. Plugged it into the USB port and opened photobooth to see how the camera performed and saw a very poor quality picture (not 4K) by any means. To me it looked like the kind of quality you would have seen 10+ years ago. I tried it on facetime and no video came through from the camera. Tried a number of times and once i saw the same grainy picture. Tried to make a facetime call and the other person couldn't see me or hear anything apart from white noise. I also attempted to use it for a conf and again no picture coming through the camera. It just wasn't activating with the programs. Conclude this camera does not work well with the Mac and so for me is useless. Picture quality was also very disappointing on the couple of occasions i did see a picture.

Typical webcam that runs fine in USB port. Plug it in and away you go. The design has a bracket to allow perching on top of monitor and has a thread to accept a standard camera tripod - however the typical tripod screw is a bit longer than the hole given here so a bit of packing material may be required to actually make it stable. For its price the camera provides fine image, bit fish eye at the edges but ok in middle.

I got this camera to video-conference, and the image quality is decent (although skype does sometimes seem to have some trouble balancing colour, but that is probably skype being skype).When I tried using the built-in microphone, though, people on the other side only reported a wall of noise, no understandable sound was being produced.I was planning to use an external microphone anyway so it wasn't a deal breaker (and I didn't put much more effort into getting the camera's mic to work when it didn't work out of the box), but it's still going to cost the product some stars.

The sound is fine but I was really disappointed with the quality of the picture which reduced everything to harsh tones. There's no way of adjusting this either. I also realised post-purchased that the price I was charged was highly inflated - no doubt due to the fact that everyone was buying webcams in order to work online in the Covid-19 lockdown. There's something to be said about the ethos of a company that would do this. Now it's ultra-cheap this is probably a fairer reflection of the actual quality.

I love the fact that it has sharp colours (Picture) and it is great for conferencing

I got this to use with the Mac Mini (2014) I have connected to my TV for FaceTime and Zoom calls. It works well when it works: good picture, bracket keeps it steady on my Panasonic LCD, but it’s the working part that caused me to get another (cheaper replacement).Built-in microphone was the first issue to crop up: gain is too low, even maximised to be heard clearly from 2m away, so clearly this aspect has only been considered for use with a close-up device like a laptop, where it’s probably sufficient.Image quality is very good, even in low light with a good viewing angle. Main issue is that my computer failed to detect the camera upon waking from sleep or even before connecting a call, requiring me to reconnect a FaceTime call or to only connect the camera after starting a zoom call. Could be the unit I have is defective (sadly past the return window) or not great with MacOS.I bought a new, similar webcam for £10 less that stays on when connected to USB and activates when a compatible application is launched and has a cap to cover the lens for privacy, so sadly I cannot recommend this one.
