Fun to listen
So much fun to see your family’s answers to the questions. Makes you wonder who you are related to and are you safe. Lol

A good game for 2, but more fun with more players.
The board, cards and chips are bright and sturdy. The game board is compact, makes for easier storage. The written rules are not very clear, the video was extremely helpful. There isn't clarification if 2 players have the same element at the end. Tried with 2 and 4 players. I would definitely play with 3 or more players. A good strategy game for young players.

Beautiful components, great idea, ...
This is my third attempt to write a review, and hopefully the system accepts this one. Each review has become more bare bones. The bottom-line up-front with this game is that it has very nice components, and I love the idea. That all said, the game is unplayable.First, multiple people can end up with the same goal, multiple times.Second, it is like Mancala or Tic Tac Toe in that at a certain point, not far into the game, the results for the round become inexorable.Third, the rules are unclear. The previous attempts at this review were longer with more insights, but hopefully this one gets through.

Unfriendly rulebook, unbalanced play
I will start off by saying I'm a huge gamer. I own hundreds of board games and belong to several groups that I play with 1-3 times a week so I'm no stranger to a variety of types of games.Regarding Master the Elements. The rule book is atrocious. It is not at all easy to follow. So then I moved to the playthrough video provided by the developers. Very short, covered some of the basics but still not fully clear. Then my teenage son and I attempted a game. Ugh, it was painful to say the least. My son has a keenly strategic mind and even he found the play convoluted. Moving on, I found a more detailed video online and their play of it summed up my feelings to a T. The game is not well balanced nor easy to learn and play correctly. The components are nicely made, hence the 2 star review instead of the initial 1 star that I was inclined to give it. I would recommend you watch not only the video on this website but also others online before purchasing. It seems from the reviews here that some people are enjoying the game but I can't count myself among them.

Fur for the whole family!
This clever matching game uses tokens and icons to create a quick but fun battle of the elements. It combines elements of checkers, Jenga, and Connect 4.The board is divided into four quadrants, each assigned to an element (air, earth, fire, water). Players get cards that identify the element they need to win -- and sometimes they can get a card that gives them two elements to choose from. Round tokens assigned to each element are placed in each quadrant by a player on their turn. From this simple set up, the game gets considerably more complex as players can stack elements together. Height matters, because it's possible to steal elements by adding a different elemental token that matches the height of any other pile on the board. So if there's a 5-token-high fire pile, another player add a token to the 4-token-high earth pile, and then add a water token, making it 5-tokens high and thus moving the 4 earth tokens plus the 1 water token to the water quadrant. You can also steal a pile by combining two piles to match the height of a different pile on the board -- so in the aforementioned example, a 5-token-high fire pile could allow another player to combine a 3-token-high earth pile with a 2-token-high water pile, creating a 5-token-high water pile.Once all the tokens are used up, each player gains one point for the number of tokens on his or her element, with an additional 5 bonus points for the player who plays the last token. You go four rounds, adding up the points as you go. You can do just one round though, which sometimes is all we have time or interest for.The original crowdfunded version of this game has its origins in a family playing with quarters on a ferry ride and it's easy to see why it works: the concept is both simple and surprisingly deep in execution. It's a fun game that's quick and easy to understand, which makes it perfect for families -- this one included.

Not worth the money!!
We were disappointed. Playing board is very small and flimsy. Instructions to play are difficult to understand. Not particularly fun to play. Over all, would NOT buy again.

Enjoyable "light" family game
I have a gaming family. We play everything from Hearts and Monopoly through Quarriors and Agricola. Some of us like heavier games others lighter and we all like to annoy each other and have fun. When I read the description of Master The Elements, it seemed to hit the light, with plenty of interaction, and as much thought as you wanted to put into it - and that is exactly what we got. It is a game that everyone can play as it is easily approachable (make sure to watch the 2 minute kickstarter video!) and teachable. At the same time it has a good amount of depth and playability. It has been a hit with the family as well as our gaming group.
