They were a bit flimsy but as wedding cake was sponge it was ok when the cake was cut

Brought this to use on our wedding cake, first glimpse it’s a beautiful knife, but it’s awful to cut it bends and doesn’t even cut in a straight line, I’m surprised it didn’t snap off the handle while cutting our cake.

Love my cake serving knives, always using it and at the special occasions

I was disappointed with the handles. They were plastic and in the picture they looked silver coloured so I presumed they were made of steel, like the blades. It was for a Silver Wedding gift.

Purchased despite reviews.... well packed, looked good but, oh my the knife is 'flimsy' it would'nt cut a traditional fruit wedding cake ...I purchased for the office as we are always having birthdays, etc. so good enough.

The knife bends when you use it to cut with so a bit to cheap really wouldn't get one of these again would pay a bit more money. If I'm being honest

This item is more like a child's toy. It's made from very thin metal and a fragile plastic handle. For the price I expected it to be so much more. So if you're after something heavier it's not for you.

Don’t waste your time in ordering this meagre product. A poor-quality item, extremely flexible blade, which looks cheap and cheerful! Shocking that such an item is available for sale. I am extremely disappointed with this quality and visual aesthetics of this item and have arranged an immediate return.I should have trusted the numerous bad reviews- Many were saying it would not cut the cake, but… as a professional cake maker, I totally understand that this type of cake knife is not intended to actually portion a wedding or celebration cake. (You need a much better quality, serrated Chef knife to cut a cake neatly) It is merely used by the Bride & Groom, during the photography of the cake cutting at the wedding reception, so I was not expecting it to be a perfect knife!I purchased it as the handles looked nice, and fitted in with a bride’s ‘sparkle crystal’ theme for the wedding. It arrived in a flimsy cardboard envelope, which allowed the knife blade to bend easily during transit. (See pic) It was encased in a cheap and cheerful clear plastic case. The handles look dull and lack lustre. The blade is extremely thin, flexible and of poor quality.If you can, spend a little bit more and get the following:Grunwerg Brides Knife for Wedding Cake, Kings Pattern, 18/10 Stainless Steel, Gift Boxed 8903 £19.99 on AMAZON. This will look much better. I will be decorating the knife by taping a mini flower corsage to it, which always goes down a storm with the Bride! (NB I’d only use the knife for the cake cutting ceremony- I would ALWAYS use a professional chef’s serrated knife to slice the cake)Hope this helps anyone else who is thinking of buying. THINK AGAIN!
