This Makes For A Lot of Dry!
OK, My son's Scout Troop hammock camps. While it has taken me roughly 37 nights of hanging and one year of thinking to dial my gear in, this made have just become my favorite bit of kit (after my underquilt cus that thing is crazy awesome!). Really. I used a Hennessy Hex Tarp all year. It worked well, but It was the 70d version and it was heavey. I was looking for something lighter, but didn't want to spend $150 on it. I ordered a different tarp that was 20d. It was light but it was too small for my new Dutchware Half Zipped. I thought, "Why am I giving up the extra dry space for a hex tarp?" I was not saving much weight. That is when I settled on the 12'x10' flat sheet tarp from Paria.I used it this past weekend in the Pacific Northwest. It was 40f, raining and windy. The wind was ripping at 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph. I did NOT have this tarp in that wind. Nothing short of a building will survive wind like that. Our camp site was very protected from the wind. The rain was another story. Wet had a lot of rain.Under this tarp I had tons of room. I was able to hang it high enough to stand up at the ridge. I pulled the corners down low and stuck my walking sticks up in the middle of the sides to give it more flair and make a larger dry foot print. None of my gear was wet. I kept a ground cloth out that I could walk around on in my socks.I live where it rains a lot. I will pack this tarp every trip. The only bad thing I can say is the tie out lines suck. They are cheap and stiff. I replaced them with dyneema refletex. It is much smoother and more supple. The other cords will look great woven in to some cool paracord project.

I was surprised how easy it was to set up fairly taut with only ...
The forecast predicted 100% chance of rain all weekend so I set my new tarp up in the backyard. I was surprised how easy it was to set up fairly taut with only a little tweaking on my first try. After weeks of perusing tarp camping and ultralight backpacking sites I was anticipating it being much harder. I set it up in a high and wide A frame style and left it up all weekend. I used a trekking pole at 52" on on end and a small 18" pole (from my Tarptent) on the end into the prevailing winds. I guyed it out pretty wide and put a tent footprint under it so I could check my results throughout the weekend. The winds weren't high but steady rain all weekend. The foot print, which was 50x84 stayed dry all weekend. I'm stoked now to try it on a trip and not the least concerned that it will rain on me.It was nice to get everything included which allowed me to set it up without having to buy anything else. The line tensioners worked, and kept the tarp very taut, but I found them awkward to adjust. Maybe I just put them on wrong but I'm not a fan of them. I have a couple of packs of line locks left over from another project that I'm going to replace them with. The included line is very thin and light but seems quite adequate to hold the tarp and its great that they're reflective. Customer service contacted me to see if I was pleased with the tarp and offered me some suggestions to set up after when expressed some concerns with the poles I have and they worked fine. All in all I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Super light and waterproof
I set out to find a 12' x 10' silnylon tarp that weighed less than a pound and wouldn't break the bank. Needed it for a fast and light trip to Shining Rock wilderness in Pisgah NC that promised to be rather rainy, my other tarps seemed either too small or too heavy. When I found this guy on Amazon I thought it was too good to be true. I was wrong! When I received the tarp I threw it straight on the scales and to my surprise I found it to weigh 13.5 oz without stakes and rope! The stakes sent are great although the tie out string is a little hard to untie after being soaked and dried. That is a very minor gripe though, this tarp is fantastic!I set it up over my hammock, pulled one side out a little less than head high and tied off to some nearby trees. It provided enough room for two people to sit in chairs underneath and stay completely dry. Would even fit three in a pinch.I can't say enough positive things about this tarp, I highly recommend it. Neither thunderstorms nor wind could permeate it, I felt as safe sleeping under it as I would in my bed at home. The stitching and seam tape are as good as an ENO and the included line locs make adjusting a breeze.Hope this review helps anyone who may be undecided about purchasing. It's a super piece of gear, you won't be disappointed!

Great Service. Great Products.
I love two things about my Paria Outdoor Products SilTarpFirst, the product is better than advertised. Lightweight. Quality. Easy to use. There are 3 stuff sacks - one for the tarp, one for the stakes, one for the guylines. The guylines are high quality Dyneema with reflective strips for easy finding in the night. The stakes are strong and lightweight. The tarp is great - I’ve used in rain and snow with no problems. It is 8’ x 10’ which is a bit small for my hammock, but that’s my problem because I ordered it that way.Second, I love Paria Products Customer Service. Even though I ordered from Amazon, I received a personalized e-mail informing the the order had shipped. I subsequently asked some usage questions and quickly received a response with several options.

Lightweight tarp
So far so good. Used once in a wild camp. Tarp seems well made and guy ropes are perfect with little cleats to adjust tension. Looking forward to using it in rain with the mesh tent. Very light and packs small

Excellent medium sized camping tarp
Based on just one nights use so far, but it was in torrential rain.Tarp worked excellently, lightweight, easy to erect and totally waterproof.Perfect for sleeping under, and big enough to provide a dry admin area during the day.

Great tarp and easy to set up. Kept me warm and dry all night! Easy to pack back in the stuff sack. Not like many other companies that make the stuff sacks too small.

Great tarp!
Great build quality, packs light and small. So far I've only used it while car camping, but it would do equally well backpacking.
