Never leave home with out it!
I find all the Timbermate fillers to work great. As a wood worker/carpenter this product is the easiest to work with, sands beautifully, takes stain, fills well and dries fast! All Timbermates dry lighter but don't let that fool you. It is how it matches the NATURAL color of the wood to take an even stain!!!!Used these products on a butcher block counter top and you can not tell where I used the filler.I have a supply of Timbermate to mix and match.

Best wood filler on the market!
This is by far the best wood filler I have EVER used. Choose the right color and it blends beautifully! Dries quickly, easy to sand! I bought a light, a reddish and a dark! And I think they will last forever. The bottle goes a long way. And great shelf life. If it dries out, just add some water and, voila!

Works as described.
Product works well, easy to sand, and can be rejuvenated by adding water. However, not the best value here; I was just at Woodcraft and purchased five other colors for $9.00 each.

Best product of its type out there
We all make errors in woodworking. I have been using this stuff for years - all the various colors by wood, etc. It is just great. It cleans up easily, sands well, and takes stain, plus it hides goofs.

Wood filler is a pain and rarely looks good. This is better than most. I bought a lighter color and a darker color and mixed the two to achieve the shade I wanted. Depending on the board sometimes I needed a lighter color and sometimes darker. Fairly easy to work with. If it gets a little stiff just a few drops of water will bring it back to life. I didn't think it looked all that great after I was finished patching cracks and a few holes, but now that the polyurethane is on the floor it looks awesome and you can't notice the wood filled areas at all. Would buy again.

Superior wood filler
Working on a cherry wood project. Filled a couple holes perfectly and the color match was better then expected. Will use this product again.

Does a great job filling in grain and is really easy to use.
I had hoped this product was one that would finally cure my shopping for grain filler in wood. Although this does fill in the grains, all woods have a unique color. Trying the use a "one product fits all" is not possible unless you are willing to mix your own filler with dyes and paste. I had hopes Timbermate would be that onces and for all grain filler. It was not.I would recommend this product if you are willing to live with the color of the filler. The filler does work well, is easy to apply and sand down and certainly does work, so no complaints there.

Saved my butt
In replicating an historic 18th firearm I had to inscribe, using a scratch stock and fine riffling files, several long, parallel, closely spaced beads along the length of the cherry 55” fore stock. Inexplicably and inexcusably I ran two beads into each other for about 3-4”. I must have been cross-eyed when I cut that section. I was at a loss as what to do. I discovered Timbermate and the claims for it sounded too good to be true. Well, I had nothing to lose. It works as advertised! I filled in the botched section and let it dry overnight and recut the beading. It’s hard and brittle and care needs to be exercised when working it. The question remained how would it take a stain? A long straight section would stick out like a sore thumb if the stain didn’t match. I put two coats of sealer on the stock again letting it dry overnight. I layered three stains – cherry, nut brown, and an over wash of ebony to achieve red high lights through the brown and a patina of age. I cannot detect the Timbermate repair. Now a function of its ‘invisibility’ in this case is the layering of stain. I’m very pleased and lucky to have discovered this product and it’s now a staple on my shelf.
