I'm not sure if I understand the question, but the charger will be plugged into an outlet while it's connected to and charging your battery. You should not charge your battery while your car is running. If this doesn't answer your question, please feel free to contact us.

Q: What if the battery is just too low to start the car. Will it bring the battery up in 5 or ten minutes or does it take a lon time?

This is not really a charger but a long term tender. It will charge, but very slowly. For a low battery, think in terms of many hours or even a few days.

Q: Can someone explain? It says attach a 6-gauge cable to the - post, THEN attach the + and - clips. What is that 6-gauge cable? Didn't come with it.
