It has a triangular "chute" into which you put the tablet that allows the pill to slide right into place in the tightest position, lined up for the cut. Simply put the pill in, gently close, and it's cleanly cut in half. You can use it for one or let the halves fall into the reservoir that holds them until you've cut the quantity you need, then pour out and put in your bottle or pill organizer. Small or large hands work the same with this and you don't need any kind of hand strength to do it. Finally, the price is right.
