Very disappointed with this pump and Wayne. The potential is there for a great product, but this is just not designed correctly. The sensor that sets the pump cut in and off water level is set too low. The pump does not stop pumping until it is well below the water inlet which causes it to cavitate and makes a loud sucking at the end of each cycle. This is loud enough to hear through the whole house. I spoke to their customer and technical service and they insisted that this was normal. I’ve never heard or known of any pump that is designed to intentionally cavitate. Upon Wayne’s suggestion, I returned the pump to Amazon as they suggested perhaps it was a bad unit. I ordered another hoping they were correct but the second does the same thing. I like the WiFi connection features and the app that works with this pump. However due to the fact that you cannot adjust the air switch on this, this second one may also need to go back. Until Wayne makes a change to the design of this I do not recommend purchasing one unless you don’t care about how loud it will be. Edit: - Updating my review: Some great people at Wayne reached out to me about the issues that I was having. I have to say, the experience I had with them is not something you really see these days. They took the time to listen to me, and to understand the issues that I was having. They came up with a resolution that I was comfortable with which also corrected the issues that I was experiencing. Thank you Wayne Pumps for your outstanding customer service. My pump remains in place and running to keep my basement dry.

We have two sump pumps in our basement to keep it nice and dry. Every 4 years or so, even less, we have to replace one. I have been buying the same brand every time and thought there has to be something better. I have read how good the Wayne sump pumps are and decided to try one out. I got the model WAYNE CDU790 and it is absolutely great. Right away out of the box you can feel is it quality. The old ones I bought were thermoplastic and only one lasted the expected 5 years. Some lasted a little over 4 years, most did not. The cast iron is heavy duty with stainless steel hardware holding it all together. The impeller is also stainless steel protected by a cast iron shroud. It has a long cable for reaching the outlet. The installation was very easy, and the operation is so quiet that I was worried that it wasn't working. I had to remove the cover to see if it was working and it is. My old pumps were so loud you could hear them upstairs every time they ran. The Wayne pumps water MUCH faster than the old pumps I bought. The sump empties in a matter of only a few seconds. This is a solid sump pump with a 3 year warranty. I registered it online immediately and am confident it will outlast my old pumps by far. The expected life if 6 years. For all of that, I give it 5 stars. Also for a super value and price as well as terrific quality.
