The pliers are great for needle nose pliers pinching straight on. However they are quite weak when used to pry sideways. Was underneath a car trying to separate the transmission linkage and I broke off one of the ends of the pliers' pinchers. Excessive force wasn't used. I was surprised when it broke.2.) The other weak link on this otherwise awesome item is the pouch. The nylon/canvas materials is weak, but the worse part about it is the velcro clasp material, it wears out in a few weeks and does not keep the pliers in your pouch if you end up laying on the ground or inverted at all.I thought perhaps one of my old leatherman leather pouches would work on this tool, but the butterfly grip is too wide.Still for $22 I can't bring myself to take away a star.Better velcro and better pouch would make this product significantly better.Knowing not to pry sideways with the pliers, I would otherwise expect this tool to last quite a while.The second pair I bought to replace the ones with the broken pliers, well they are laying on some roadside somewhere, as I was under a car and the velcro failed, leaving them on the ground when I got up. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Dear Gerber - You Listening? *by D***S on January 3, 2019* So I've been a loyal customer for many years (like a lot of folks). I didn't "shop around", I lost my Gerber multi-tool and went to Amazon to pick up a new one. I wasn't asking for a rabbit out of a hat, just a decent EDC I could carry and rely on for light duty work stuff and weekend camping. Ok you say, that's what we sent you...well, no you didn't.The case has stitching already coming apart out of the package (it's in the pic so no guessing). You've had decades to catch up with Swiss Army on ease of use (pulling the tools out of the frame) but you still don't offer a fingernail catch on any of the tools. So, skip the nail catch...this is a "tough" tool darn it! Then how come no human could grab a single implement with gloves on...you know, like us tough hunters and those hikers? Details, details you say, give us a break! No, I won't. How about scissors that you've designed to store blade up? How about that they're 50% the size of any Swiss model (they're only like the 2nd or 3rd most used tool)? Hmm, this guy sure is picky...bet he didn't even look at the rock solid essentials??? Yup, you must mean the cutter feature that doesn't even close tight...what kind of fishing line are your designers using?Look, I get it. You make a product for the best price, sell a gazzilion and ride the odds on returns for QC. Why not take the same piece of gear, don't even touch the features but rather spend a buck on inspecting what your shipping? Tell the team making the sheaths (no, I couldn't care their Asian origin) these are the specs, now get it done. It's not like I'm the only one complaining about the exact same thing in all these reviews. Anyway, make the call. Take half the time I took to write this run on sentence and make something worth putting your name on. The material has clearly changed from the one he had a few years ago and it is very cheap. He simply cut a plastic zip tie with this one and it broke.
