What is the basis for the expiration date (about 3 years out)? The active ingredient, kaolin clay, is a mineral that can exist for millions of years.

Mostly for legal reasons, FDA mandated expiration dates. The product will be useful many years after the exp date if kept un-opened in controlled environment.

What is the current expiration date as of 1/2020?

Hello, Miguel from Tall Ridge here! Expiration dates are typically around 12-36 months from the time of purchase. I hope you find this helpful.

Can you cut the strip into pieces for smaller individual use?

Yes, just like any folded or rolled gauze.

Are the two clotting strips inside the package individually wrapped?

Hello - Mina from Tall Ridge here - Thank you for your inquiry! The QuikClot Advanced Clotting Gauze comes with only one gauze that measures 3 x 24 in. I hope that helps!
