I'm putting Hardie Plank siding on my house in my spare time. I generally don't have much help available, so these contraptions are my new best friend. They work very well, and after a couple of hours of use I have developed the ability to loosen, move, adjust, manipulate, etc., these clamps one handed, enabling me to effectively side the house by myself.Looking at these clamps as what they really are - you'll conclude that they're silly overpriced. Looking at what they enable you to do - by yourself - these are worth vastly more than they're charging for them.There is a fine adjustment to the "siding overlap dimension" for each clamp. That adjustment isn't silky smooth, and I believe that incremented (about 1/32") steps are intentional and not intended to be manipulated all that often in use. Once the initial row of siding is in place and absolutely level, these clamps won't need to be adjusted. I have had a couple of special circumstances where I was trying to "regain level" on subsequent courses of siding, and these clamps put me into the position of being able to command that kind of control over the quality of my work. Very nice tools, indeed.And the clamps very seldom show up to work late, have an attitude, or need a personal day. So they're hired.

I have only good things to say about these gauges. The hang on to the siding, they hold up the next piece, they survive drops, they are designed to fix everything wrong with the other brand of gauges. I am siding a house with only my wife as help, so I didn’t want to be frustrated with the gauges while I’m up on the scaffold, and figured the extra few dollars was worth not sleeping alone after shouting at my wife because the brand x gauges annoyed me.These gauges are adjustable in every way, and they hang on well, nice and flat against the siding. The adjustments are also forgiving.The one thing that is not wonderful is that the adjustments for plank thickness and clamp force move too easily, they should take some small amount of effort to adjust, but they turn so easily that you inadvertently adjust them just moving them around.Because they are forgiving, they still work fine, you just need to check them every once in awhile to make sure they aren’t too loose.They appear to be a brand new design, as there were no reviews here when I bought them, and the packaging was non existent. Maybe mine were a small trial batch, But they need to be selling these everywhere, they’re a great product.These certainly cost more than the more common gauges, but they work so well, I’m going to say worth every penny.

This tool has an adjustable clamp so it will not slip. Used this on 5/16 Hardie siding. The only issue was the technical description did not really explain "spacers" and there are now videos available for this particular tool. Once I figured out the spacers and how to set the "flipper" it worked great.

They work great. Have two sets bought one and ordered second set on first day. Thought was going to be solo since one guy was only going to work part time got lucky and found an other guy but well worth the money in my opinion. They will break if land on concrete. Glued piece back on works fine.

Like having an extra hand.
