I wear about a 12 to 14 and would normally order a Large but based on reviews ordered an XL. The waist is HUGE and I may need to wear a belt with these. I put them on over a pair of workout leggings and they are pretty snug in the legs and thighs. With no layering - much better. I ordered them to wear snow shoeing and cross country skiing so we'll see if they are warm enough without extra layers. Maybe will try thin, thinsulate long underwear underneath if necessary. If you have chunky thighs. Be aware.Material seems durable and water repellant which is what I was looking for.

I never have luck with these kind of pants ordering online. I am one of those sizes that sometimes I can wear a 6 (Small), sometimes I have to wear an 8 (Medium). So I went with the 8 because usually pants like this run small. Now these are too big which leads me to say they are true to size. So order what you would normally wear in jeans. They are generous around the waist. I decided based on past experience with other brands to get the 8 and not the 6. While they are big, I will make them work even if I have to take them in.. I wasn't crazy about the belt they came with but I have others I can use. They appear to be well made, I like the front zippered pockets . I would order again but would order a small .

These were one of the better cheap options I tried but still had a huge gap in the waist. I'm very small so I looked ridiculous in them, but if I was a little bigger I would have probably kept these.

I have been searching for perfect pants. For me and my search, these are amazing. I'm 5'7" and 112 lbs with no rounded hips so it's difficult to find well designed pants for my size. These nailed it. They are made of a fabric with stretch so lucky girls with hips would look so nice in them. I bought the size 26 and if there was one size smaller I would like that better as I like a little more snug fit. But I am more happy with these than any other I've found and am sticking with them. The fabric quality is high, as well as the construction. The are two deep pockets in the front and 2 hidden pockets in the back. Also nice unexpected addition.We love to ride snowmobiles, especially on the warmer sunny days. Many days the usual snow pants are too warm. Not these! They are so very comfortable. On really cold days, there's room to put a thermal layer or leggins on. I haven't tried them in rain yet, but in the snow and breeze, they were great. Never wet at all. I don't feel the wind either and I normally do get cold easily. The fabric is a nice smooth nylon type with fleece on the inside. So soft. The zippers are like on wet bags, waterproof. Other reviews had mentioned the seam near the knees, yes they are there but they were never an issue at all to me. They actually provide more movement ability. What I didn't expect was how sweet they are for every day wear on cold days in general. I love them for casual winter wear! Morning walks in these... the best. They also look great on! I have spent a lot of time and money looking for just this and I'm so happy with them. I'm adding a few more pairs for next winter. Thanks for a great pair of winter pants.

Go up a size. Especially if you have hips. They run small.

I am 5'4" tall and these pants are barely long enough. I usually wear a size 6 and I got the 30 size. They fit fine in the waist with a little extra room. The material is nice. I plan to wear these for winter golf due to the lining which is nice. But just know that if you order these and you have long legs or are tall, they may be too short for you.

I purchased these and the men's equivalent for my husband and I to prepare for a New Year's (Dec 30-Jan 6) trip to Iceland. I wore these pants exclusively throughout our trip. In Reykjavik, I did not need an underlayer to stay warm and dry. However, I had no problem layering with thermal leggings underneath for a 3-day tour along the southern coast to Hofn. During this tour, we hiked a glacier and some ice caves in the Jokulsarlon area and we were toasty warm the entire time. The wind was unbelievable along the coast, but none of it got through the pants. I was equally surprised at how water resistant they seemed. It snowed heavily throughout our trip but we remained warm and dry. My husband runs warm but he never felt like he was overheating. Moral of the story, buy these pants! You will not be disappointed!

Just came back Iceland Oct31 to Nov 8. I had bought 2 pairs of these awesome pants and I'm so glad I did. For the majority of my trips only used these. They are fleece lined but I put an extra fleece lined leggings underneath and I was so warm. I went close to waterfalls and got soaked but my legs were warm and water did not seep through. I hunted northern lights in the cold and wind and my legs were never cold. I went to see a glacier where it rained and wind was blowing everywhere and I was never in any discomfort. These are the best pants ever in my opinion. I am a plus size short woman so it's hard to find pants that won't make u look huge but also protect you. I got lots of compliments because the style isn't bad. At one point I styled it with a nice sweater and it did not look bad at all. I wore these pants with Columbia boots I did not wear with regular shoes so consider that when purchasing.
