That works great on a lot of aftermarket shift rods out there, but these do not fit Harley Davidson branded shift rods. Case in point the Harley Davidson Slotted Black Anodized Gear Shift Linkage Part Number 33745-09 has 18 (coarse) threads. I ended up buying 1.25" black powder coated 5/16" 18 thread coupling nuts from Grainger and 5/16" threaded open ended rods to make that work.
