Diamonds in the Rough: The Untold History of Baseball

This book is a bit drier and more scholastic than I expected, but it is an excellent history of baseball, and is nonetheless very readable. It is over 20 years out-of-date (It was written in 1989.), but the early history is very interesting, and the state of baseball in the 1980's is still relevant. I believe much has changed in American society and its reflection through baseball in these 20 years to make some of the author's statements outdated, but they were accurate at the time of the writing and should be examined as such.

I ordered a book, it not only came in perfect condition...when I went to my friend (co-author), to have it signed, it turned out to be a first edition...He took it to show everyone in the room. He was even more excited than I! Thanks for a great buy!
