Rosemary Mint Shampoo Bar, Strengthening Argan Oil Shampoo. 3 oz

I love this shampoo bar. I bought it in an effort to stop putting chemicals on my body and plastic on Earth. I read tons of reviews from dozens of different products and finally settled on the Aspen Kay brand. I chose the Lemongrass & sweet orange because it was for all hair types and didn’t need a conditioning bar too, even though I don’t really care for the sent of lemongrass. I was skeptical, especially when my hair felt “squeaky” clean after I rinsed it. The lather is fabulous, so I was worried that it was over cleaning and would make my hair dry and flyaway. But, I am pleasantly surprised. My hair is clean, soft, manageable and not dry or fly away. The first time I used it, the lemongrass scent was strong and lingered all day. So, the second time, I rinsed my hair really thoroughly, and the scent didn’t linger. I have been using the bar without conditioner for a week. It has kept my hair clean for a second day. My scalp feels healthier. No dry flaky patches like I usually have around my hair line. My hair is untreated, silver/gray and typically a bit dry. I live in Arizona, so everything is dry, but my hair easily gets over-conditioned and then it looks dull and flat. I am very happy with the way my hair looks and styles using this shampoo bar. I feel good that there are a few less plastic bottles on Earth too.

I am reviewing both the shampoo and conditioner bars. I used them for the first time today, and I love them so far! I've been wanting to switch to bars for a while now to reduce my plastic use, but I've been aprehensive about how well they would work, and dropping the money to try it. I looked at many different brands, but ultimately chose this one for a few reasons: 1. All natural organic ingredients, no sulfates/parabens etc. 2. No palm oil 3. Not packaged & shipped in a bunch of plastic which would defeat the purpose of going to bar shampoo in the first place and 4. Cruelty free which is a must. Aspen Kay met all of those requirements. When I used it, it lathered surprisingly well and was easy to work through my hair. It didn't feel too drying or too greasy. Rinsed out nicely without any leftover residue. I was worried the lemon scent might be over powering because I'm really sensitive to smells, but it really was not. It is a subtle and refreshing scent (note: it smells stronger when you first open the tin than when you are actually using it). When I was finished my hair was very manageable and easy to comb through. After I dried my hair, it was pretty soft and smooth, and actually less frizzy than usual. I still have a good amount of body in my hair, its not greasy or weighed down at all. My hair and scalp feel really clean, but still moisturized just enough. All and all I'm very happy with this product and releived that the first brand I tried worked out great. I just hope it continues to work well and the bars last a while. It seems like a little goes a long way so I'm pretty hopeful. Highly recommend!

FINALLY! A SOLID SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER BAR I CAN USE!! I gave up on finding a bar shampoo and conditioner I could use. I’ve tried several different brands (from many well-known stores and the one we all love) and I could never find a shampoo and conditioner bar that actually WORKED. I have LONG, THIN, STRAIGHT hair. It falls about halfway between mid back and waist. Usually, shampoo bars I used would be “ok” but the conditioning bars NEVER worked. They wouldn’t lather, wouldn’t condition, would not smooth out my hair... I tried this company on a whim during a search on Amazon. LEMONGRASS SHAMPOO: Hair is squeaky clean. Very nice lather- MOUNDS of creamy suds! And the smell is, well, DELICIOUS. I’m craving a piece of lemon cake now. As of early January 2020, this particular shampoo is packaged in a travel tin. ROSEMARY MINT CONDITIONER: This is the big win!!!!! A solid conditioner that ACTUALLY CONDITIONS MY HAIR!! It made my hair slippery smooth and very shiny. When you rub the bar between your hands, it kind of turns into a very very light lotion-like soap. I do this first to get it going. Then, I rub the bar into different spots on my head/hair and distribute accordingly. I have a detangling wide tooth shower comb that I use to comb conditioner through my hair during the shower and this works great! NOTE: The rosemary conditioner is NOT packaged in a TRAVEL TIN. The company is trying to get away from sending many tins out, as this defeats the purpose of eco-friendly packaging! So, in the future, I believe they will be selling just refills wrapped in paper AND an option to get the tin. This is what I gathered through my communication with them. Overall A+! Very nice company, good communication, and very nice shampoo and conditioning bars! I will be recommending these to my friends.

I was really skeptical of the solid shampoo bar prior to my first use. It lathered very nicely- we have hard water, so it's difficult for even liquid soaps to bubble up nicely. I have very fine hair, so it's hard to find products that don't leave residue and this shampoo bar is clean rinsing and it doesn't dry out my hair at all. I've been using it for a week and have yet to need any kind of product or conditioner to tame frizz or dryness. The only downside of this is it smells more like lemongrass and I get very little of the orange scent. It's pleasant smelling, but I'd personally prefer a stronger orange scent, which is why I gave it 4 stars- I'd do 4.5 if I could because in the grand scheme of things, scent is not a huge detractor from the efficiency of the product.

I decided to switch to this shampoo because I want to stop putting chemicals on my body and I feel like the fake stuff makes my hair greasy and dull I have long dry hair with minimum bleach damage plus it being curly so I struggle with getting enough hydration- I’ve tried other solid shampoos/conditioners and have been left with dry brittle hair after only one wash Just used these for the first time and I must say GREAT - not only did it smell like pure essential oils, making it feel like a spa - but the shampoo cleaned nicely getting rid of greasiness without weighing my hair down, I want to say it added volume but I can’t say for sure with only one wash - the conditioner made my hair super soft already in the shower and felt really hydrating- I’m happy with having clean ingredients without sacrificing effectiveness And will definitely continue purchasing - I really recommend!!

Worked ok in the beginning but fell apart in pieces when there were 1/4 left.

I LOVE everything about this product! The scent is wonderful (call me crazy, but I like my eo products to actually smell like eo's, and quality eo's at that), the lather is luxurious, it rinses out clean (a tough job with our super-soft whole-house filtered water) and it left my hair glorious. I do think it's important to balance the hair ph after shampooing with an ACV rinse. Any soap is very alkaline, and our hair has an acid mantle to maintain so if you have any issues with your hair after using this, try that and I bet you it will solve the issue. The 2nd thing I want to say is that it's super annoying to see reviewers bash an excellent product because they had an allergic reaction. At the end of the day, it's the job of the consumer to know what allergies they have and avoid the product, or chalk it up as a lesson learned and another allergy discovered. If you are allergic to a rhizome like ginseng, chances are pretty good that you might be allergic to another rhizome like turmeric. If you are allergic to chocolate, you should avoid cocoa butter~ or at least err on the side of caution with a patch test before slathering all over your head. It's just common sense. No company can completely eliminate all possible allergens from their products~ someone can be allergic to anything and it appears to me that this company has done an excellent job of avoiding all of the more common allergens. This environmentally-friendly, plant-based, cruelty-free, super-effective product is one you can feel good about purchasing, plus the tins have endless re-purposing potential. Buy it!

I'm convinced this is a superior product to anything available in bottle form. It is freshly scented, lathers well (not as crazy much lather as bottled products, but it rinses out quicker, thus saving a little bit of water), and lasted me 3 months. I have shoulder-length super thick hair and this shampoo keeps my hair shiny with great body. It's somehow lighter than other products and I can actually get through 3 or 4 days between shampoos (maybe using dry shampoo on the 4th day). The unbreakable tin is safe in the shower, and it's impossible to spill a bar of shampoo. If my shampoo tin catches any water in it during the shower I just drain it out and let it dry on the counter overnight. This bar shampoo gets a little softer with use and is malleable enough that I can dig a little piece out and work it into my scalp. My hair dresser told me to flip my hair over and scrub the shampoo into the back underside of my hair, and up to my temples and forehead, and then massage or scrub into the top of the head last. Rinsing from underside while scrubbing continues to wash and rinse at the same time. This product rinses out squeaky clean. Be sure to use the conditioner bar for a tangle-free comb-out. Thank you for developing this product. My hair loves it, and I really feel like I'm doing some small things to help the environment (using less water and fewer plastic bottles). This product is commendable!
