Great quality, sharp…. The sheath snaps broke already…. But the ax is perfect……

High quality and tough
The quality of this axe is obvious right out of the box. The edge comes sharp, and brilliantly profiled for throwing. The quality of the steel is obvious and the head as a cool forged aesthetic that adds to the axes overall appearance. It feels good in the hand, with a weighty head and comfortable handle. It wants to chop and the balance is excellent. The wood handle is comfortable and well profiled, it sits comfortably in the hand. The non slip finish on the handle looks great, but it does tend to rub the hand a bit when throwing for longer periods. The axe is stately and solid on the throw, it doesn’t feel as lively or as quick as some of my other axes but it makes up for that with sheer presence. It’s more like a Cadillac than a Ferrari. While this axe is designed and marketed as a throwing axe, unlike a lot of other throwers it feels like it could handle some real work as well. Unlike most of the other throwing axes I’ve seen, I wouldn’t hesitate to take this axe camping.

It’s a great thrower
It’s got a decent weight, and good construction. It’s lighter than my other thrower by a few ounces and you can definitely feel that when comparing them. It throws well and arrived sharp. The handle is smooth and quality hickory. If I need another, I’d buy one for sure. My other throwers are WATL and these are very comparable. I like the head shape as well, seems it might score better as the scoring edge is in a different shape or configuration than all WATL throwers.

Large gaps at the front and rear of the handle, but worked great!
This little hatchet is awesome, quality not exactly what I expected on the hang. There are huge gaps on the bottom side at the front and the rear. That being said, I was a little disappointed at first but after using it for some chopping, I really like it.

Not a quality hatchet, worth about $20
Leather belt loop popped right off when I picked the hatchet out of the envelope. The rivet was broken. The cutting edge wildly off center and butter knife dull. I know from experience ( owned and used axes and hatchets for 35 years on my property ) that I would need an hour with a coarse file and my diamond sharpening stones to re-establish the proper angle and sharpen, assuming the steel is good.I’ll spend $50 on a Husqvarna and take a file to it and end up with what you’d get for $150 from Hults Bruks.
